  • Notes (1)

    • Originally scheduled to begin January 11, 2004, this countdown had to be shelved when NBC filed a lawsuit against E! They claimed that E!'s contract to carry shortened repeats of Saturday Night Live did not allow them to air compilations of this type, as it would hinder NBC's ability to air its own clip shows. E! claimed that it was allowable under the contract as a "promotional stunt" to attract viewers to the repeats. As a result, E! was also unable to air the SNL repeats for seven months (after winning the exclusive rights, which had previously been held by Comedy Central for years without incident).

    Trivia (1)

    • Throughout the countdown, the narrator sometimes says that E! airs repeats of Saturday Night Live weekdays at 4 PM and midnight, which were the correct air times for September 2004. However, at other times, he says that the show airs at 5 PM and midnight--the times it was scheduled to air back in January 2004, before both the series and this countdown had to be pulled due to NBC's lawsuit.
