  • Episode Description
  • Dr. Abbott suspects that Linda and Andy like each other more than they should, so he decides to set his sister up with more appropriate suitors. Meanwhile, Ephram finally has the courage to tell Amy how he really feels about their relationship, but he is confused by his feelings for Madison, who comes to the rescue when Ephram needs help to pass his driving test. Meanwhile, Andy tries to help the soon-to-be-remarried Reverend Keyes (guest-star Tim DeKay) cope with his impending blindness, but the minister would rather leave his fate to God than attempt a new treatment that might save his sight.moreless

  • Quotes (31)

    • Ephram: For an apology, that sounded an awful lot like a breakup. Amy: I'm sorry I wasted your time and it would kill me to think I wasted any more of it. I want you to promise me something. Ephram: Amy. Amy: Promise me that you won't let me and you get in the way of you and somebody else. Ephram: (after a long pause) I promise.

    • Amy: You were right Ephram, about everything. I have taken you for granted. But hey, you're a better person than I am. Everybody else sees it, I don't know why you don't. As if you didn't know this already, I'm kinda a giant mess right now. I have been ever since you've known me. I might have been more normal in Junior High, I don't know. The point is, you deserve someone great, Ephram, amazing even. Someone a little less like me and a little more like you.

    • Reverend Keyes: God isn't meant to be understood intellectually. Sometimes he's absent on purpose. He wants us to doubt, it makes us stronger. It opens other doors. And as for tragedy, I'm not dieing you know. I've experienced more with my senses in these past 18 months than I have in my entire life. I can feel Katherine. I can touch her. I can smell her and I can hear every tiny wonderful sound she makes and I love her just the same. Maybe more.

    • Bright: Guy's have pride. And he's not gonna sit around playing mind-games with you forever. Soon he's gonna get tired of that, and he's gonna move on.

    • Bright: I don't know. Maybe he's like mad in love with you and he has been over the past year.

    Trivia (3)

    • Andy thanks Nina for her help doing Delia's hair for the wedding. However, Delia is wearing her hair loose as per usual.

    • Reverend Keyes is supposed to have lost his sight almost totally as the fact that he can't tell how many fingers Dr. Brown is displaying proves; however, and right before the wedding ceremony, he can look directly to Dr. Brown's eyes as he speaks to him.

    • When Amy and Ephram are dancing, Amy's head jumps back-and-forth between Ephram's left and right shoulders as the camera angle changes.

    Allusions (2)

    • Ephram: Great! Another round with Nurse Ratched. Nurse Ratched was the strong-willed, evil nurse in the novel and movie One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest. In the movie Louise Fletcher won an Oscar for playing Nurse Ratched, whose hair was fashioned to look like the horns of a devil.

    • Dr. Abbott: Well, forgive me if I don't want to be in the John Malkovich version of the Brady Bunch.
In the 1999 movie Being John Malkovich, there is a part with clones of the person filling the room, a restaurant scene, I believe. It is horrifying in quite an unsettling way and the quote is certainly a reference to this. Preceding dialogue: Rose: You don't even know if Linda's interested. Dr. Abott: Think about it, Rose. There could be nephews, miniature little Andy Browns underfoot with pale skin and black clothes. (imitates kid's voice) Uncle Harry, can I go to the rap concert with Ephram? We're like, hitchhiking.
