  • For me it reminds me of my piano recital and it is a wonderful episode I guess.

  • Trivia & Quotes
  • Quotes (7)

    • Edna: (to Amy) I'm not trying to choose your boyfriends Amy. I'm just trying to keep you from losing too much of yourself while you figure it all out… There's a very fine line between devotion and obsession.

    • Kate: Oh, you think I'm naïve. Ephram: If you can't figure out why 28 year-old guys date high school girls, I can't help you.

    • Delia: (to Andy about cups) I don't know, Dad. You might have to take some back. Ephram: (to them) Either that, or throw a kegger. Delia: (to Ephram) We could throw a pregger. Ephram: (to Delia) Well, you've done a fine job with the cups. Mom would be proud.

    • Bright: (to Amy) How do you know all this stuff, Miss Honors Science? Amy: (to Bright) God had to do something with the other half of your brain.

    • Mr. Dowd: (to Andy) We're just like normal folks. Just got more chainsaws, that's all.

    Trivia (3)

    • In the beginning of this episode, Amy and Edna are driving in an early 1970s pickup truck. Yet at the very beginning of the sequence, we see the exact same truck used in A Thanksgiving Tale which is a model from the 1950s. Looks like they tried to save some money by reusing some footage.

    • According to the first episode with the piano teacher Matthew Lansing, he lives 2 hours away from Everwood and is getting paid extra to commute for Ephram's lessons. Yet, he has many students in Everwood, is having a serious relationship with a girl who lives in Everwood and seems to live at the recital hall in Everwood. Maybe Andy didn't really have to cough up the extra dough...

    • Amy never said she had to go to the person she was talking to on Instant Messenger.

    Allusions (4)

    • At dinner, Bright makes a small version of Devil's Tower with his mashed potatoes. This is a reference to the movie Close Encounters of the Third Kind in which Richard Dreyfuss keeps making bigger and bigger models of Devil's Tower in Wyoming.

    • Moonlight Sonata This is the popular name for Ludwig van Beethoven's The Piano Sonata No. 14 in C-sharp minor "Quasi una fantasia", Op. 27, No. 2. The popular name originates from Ludwig Rellstab's description of the piece's first movement, which he compared to moonlight shining upon Lake Lucerne.

    • X-Files: At the dinner table, Amy tells Edna that they should play X-Files like they used to, to discover what the strange white lights in the sky are. Rose also refers to Harold as Mulder in the same conversation.

    • Paul Buckman: I can't sleep without Jaime.
When Chuck goes to the sleep clinic he states he can not sleep without his Betsy. And when he does sleep with Betsy, she hits him while they are both asleep. This is a reference to an episode from Mad About You where Paul goes to a sleep clinic, and is given a doll named Betsy to sleep with... it's found out that Paul doesn't have a disorder, but Jaime, who violently attacks Paul when he's asleep.
