  • In the episode, Lois and Stewie come out of the TV in goo, but in the real movie "Poltergiest" when Carol Ann and her Mom come out they are covered in blood.

  • When Lois and Stewie escape the spirit world, via Meg, they were covered in a pinkish kind of goo. However, when they ran out of the house and into the car, the goo was gone.

  • When Lois goes in looking for Stewie, Peter ties a rope around her so they don't lose her, but when she finds Stewie and they exit out of Meg's ass, Lois has no rope around her.

  • Several bits of Jerry Goldsmith's original score for "Poltergeist" are used in this episode and match up to where the piece was used in the original film, i.e., when Stewie gets out of his crib to go to the TV and the whispering scene between Lois and the medium. The music in the closing credits of this episode is an obvious parody of Goldsmith's "Carol Anne's Theme", a similar piece of music that runs over the closing credits of "Poltergeist".
