  • Quotes (7)

    • Daniel: See how she leans her cheek upon her hand. O that I were a glove upon that hand, that I might touch that cheek. Maxine: You are so gorgeous!

    • Carl: (the lieutenant's paging Carl during Laura's play) This is my little girl's big performance, and I'm not going to miss it. Sorry, Lieutenant, this line's out of service. (stomps on the pager)

    • Steve: Ms. Steuben… I'm sorry. Ms. Steuben: I know, Steven. You're always sorry. Listen, Steven, I've… I've decided to retire from the theatre arts department. Steve: Well, gee, that's a shame. Ms. Steuben: Yeah, well…. Steven, you're not taking Home Ec. next semester, are ya? Steve: No. Ms. Steuben: Oh, good. Oh, good. I'll teach that.

    • Laura: Doth thou love me? Oh, gentle Romeo, if thou does love, pronounce it faithfully. Steve: (climbs over the balcony and falls) Oh! Ouchith! Laura: (whispering) Steve, are you okay? Steve: (whispering) I bent my dagger.

    • Rachel: Poor Laura. Harriette: What do you mean? Rachel: The balcony scene is next. You think she'll really kiss Steve? Harriette: I don't know. Every time I ask her about it she just cries and takes another Rolaid.

    Notes (1)

    • The German episode title is "Vergiß es, Romeo!", meaning "Forget It, Romeo!"

    Trivia (2)

    • As the curtain closes in the scene just before the Balcony Scene, Carl stands up and yells, "Bravo, Juliet!" but Juliet isn't actually in that scene.

    • Everyone makes a big deal about Laura kissing Steve in the balcony scene, but the first kiss between Romeo and Juliet is in Act One, Scene Five. The Balcony Scene is Act Two Scene Two, so she would have already kissed Steve by then.
