  • Trivia & Quotes
  • Quotes (6)

    • Bloo: Blake Superior? More like Inferior to us!

    • Richie: How was your weekend? Bet you're wondering how mine was. Me and my amazing imaginary friend Blake Superior went to the arcade. It was like, impossible to find time to play because, as usual, everyone kept interrupting us to say how incredible Blake was the most incredible imaginary friend they had ever seen. But, because Blake Superior's awesome and he's got this intense focus, and he's like the best video game player there's ever been, he still managed to get the high score on Turbo Motor Racer 3. And the head of the real world professional auto racing circuit managed to see the whole thing and invited Blake to race in the pro turbo racing championship where Blake Superior drove five hundred laps all while filing Father's taxes and assisting firefighters on a daring rescue mission. Everyone said it was the most astounding thing they'd seen Blake Superior do. And then, the president of the United States called to tell him how he's the greatest imaginary friend who'd ever lived. And if the president says it, you know it's true.

    • Mac: Take deeper breaths, deeper! Bloo: But I though deep breaths got rid of hiccups. Mac: I don't know, stop breathing then!

    • Bloo: Don't worry, Mac, I've got my top man on the case! (We see Eduardo in a deerstalker hat with a magnafying glass in his hand searching for the hiccups in the field) Eduardo: Hiccups? Don't you worry, I'll find you!

    • (Bloo is hiccupping after eating chips and drinking soda too fast) Bloo: Well, hello! What is (Hiccups) this? Mac: You mean the hiccups? Bloo: You mean thi -- (Hiccups) is?

    Notes (15)

    • Fast Forward: 1. The theatre used in this episode for the Imaginary Friends Talent Show and Pagent would alter be reused in "One False Movie." 2. Listen for Bloo to tell Mac that he will "go with the flow." Eduardo (in a loopy state from being at the dentist) will repeat this in "Cheese A Go-Go."

    • UK airdate: November 2, 2005.

    • Eduardo isn't a coward in this episode.

    • The flying pink imaginary friend with the heart T-shirt talks for the first time in this episode.

    • This episode marks the first time that Bloo has had the hiccups. In fact, he treats them like pets and says he will use them to his advantage.

    Trivia (3)

    • The closed-captioning refers to the hiccups as "hiccoughs".

    • Mac is 8-years old, so it's impossible that he has chemistry, rope-climbing, and woodshop as classes in his school. Those types of classes aren't used in elementary school. Unless Mac goes to a public school where the grades are from Pre-K to 8th grade, or a charter school in many states, where students go from Kindergarten through 12th Grade.

    • At one point, Bloo is drinking water, but no water leaves the cup.

    Allusions (4)

    • Calvin and Hobbes: Simularity Richie Wildebrat and Blake Superior could be a reference to the comic strip Calvin and Hobbes. Richie is short, blond, and has a big ego like Calvin, while Blake Superior looks like a tiger, and can be ferocious or cuddly. There's also the fact that everyone thought that Hobbes was Calvin's imaginary friend.

    • Octopus Imaginary Friend The octopus imaginary friend that was seen in the swim suit competition looked like Oswald from the Nick Jr. show, Oswald.

    • Blake Superior: Name An obvious take off of Lake Superior, which is one of the Great Lakes in the United States.

    • Episode Title: Hiccy Burp The episode title is a play on the song "Hikky Burr" by Quincy Jones, which served as the theme to the 1969-1971 sitcom The Bill Cosby Show.
