    • Daphne: (reacting to Niles and Frasier wondering aloud why their father has "mysteriously" invited them to join him for drinks at Duke's) What a couple of wallies! I mean, I have never met a family that worked so hard at being uncomfortable with each other! Could it be that he just wants to lift a pint with his sons?
Niles: No. Duke's is where Dad hangs out with his cop buddies. Where he goes to escape the stresses, strains and the petty annoyances of everyday life.
Frasier : In other words, us.

    • (Niles sniffs Daphne's perfume, "Forbidden") Niles: Is that... "Forbidden"? Frasier: (darkly) In every sense of the word.

    • Roz: I'd like to meet the idiot that came up with these. Take a grape, let it shrivel into a disgusting little wart and cover it with perfectly good chocolate. What the hell. I'll just suck the chocolate off. Frasier: Be sure to save what's left. Maybe you can make some wine.

    • Daphne: If you ask me, you Americans have an unhealthy obsession with sex. Martin: Hey, I'm sorry we can't all be as chaste and restrained as the Royal Family. Frasier: Good one, Dad! Martin: I've been savin' it!

    • Frasier: Men with guns will have one less place to go and liquor up. Niles: There's always Roz's place. Roz: What do you say about me when I'm not around?

    Trivia (1)

    • If you watch closely as the wrecking ball crashes through the window of Dukes you can see the street backdrop wave in the breeze created by the swinging of the ball.

    Allusions (3)

    • When Niles is mentioning different bars would be torn down after Duke's, one name he mentions is Moe's. This bar is a staple of the animated series The Simpsons...and, besides Frasier and Cheers, Kelsey Grammar is most famous for his character of Sideshow Bob on The Simpsons.

    • The title of the scene at the bar Duke's was "Where Nobody Knows Their Name." That is a reference to the Cheers theme song, "Where Everybody Knows Your Name".

    • Episode Title: Duke's, We Hardly Knew Ye The title is similiar to the 1977 TV movie Johnny, We Hardly Knew Ye.
