  • Trivia & Quotes
  • Quotes (3)

    • Martin: (on Frasier) It breaks my heart to see him like this. Fortunately, I can't see him from McGinty's.

    • Judy: Hey, have you heard about the new pirate movie? It's rated "Aarrhh!" Frasier: Yes, that's very droll. Judy: Get it? Aarrhh! Frasier: Yes, I do. Judy: That's sort of my test joke, you know, to see if a guy's cool or not? Can you believe it, you're the first guy here who laughed? I mean, can't you just see it, a pirate walks into a movie theater, he's got his eye patch and his peg leg and... (the bell rings) Boy, that did not feel like eight minutes. Frasier: Indeed it did not.

    • Roz: What's a speed date? Frasier: Well, apparently it's the latest thing. Twelve men and twelve women get together in a room. They spend eight minutes talking to one other and then move on to the next person after a bell rings. Basically, it's all the stress and humiliation of a blind date... times twelve.

    Notes (1)

    • The script for this episode has been published in The Very Best of Frasier. London: Channel 4 Books, 2001.

    Trivia (2)

    • Frasier: (to Martin) At this precise moment, she (Monica) should be receiving a Jeroboam of chilled champagne. A Jeroboam is a 3-litre bottle of champagne, twice the size of a Magnum. The largest bottle of champagne is a Nebuchadnezzar at 15 litres.

    • In the middle of the episode, while siting in Cafe Nervosa with Roz, Kelsey Grammer accidentally calls her "Niles."

    Allusions (2)

    • Segment Title Overlay: Two Roads Diverged... and I Took them Both. This title is an allusion to the famous Robert Frost poem The Road Not Taken, which begins with the phrase: "Two roads diverged in a yellow wood and sorry I could not travel both."

    • Title: Sliding Frasiers
The title and premise of this episode refer to the Gwyneth Paltrow film "Sliding Doors", in which two versions of the future unfold depending on whether or not she boards a subway train before the doors close.
