  • Quotes (2)

    • Cindy: Do you have a security system? Daphne: We don't need one, we have Eddie. Cindy: Hello Eddie. (Eddie hides in the arm of the couch) Martin: Don't let him fool you, lay a hand on me you'll have a bite in your butt the size of a tennis ball. Frasier: Yes, and Eddie will go for your ankles.

    • Frasier: (reading Kari's note) You didn't wear the scarf last night that I knitted for you. The last man who didn't wear the scarf I made for him is in his...grave.

    Notes (1)

    • Guest caller John Lithgow was actually considered for the role of 'Frasier' (on Cheers) but turned it down, hence Kelsey Grammer got the part.

    Trivia (3)

    • Including Roz and Kari, there are at least six women at the awards dinner wearing red dresses.

    • Frasier's bodyguard told him she would need a list of family members who were willing to donate organs should anything happen to Frasier at the awards ceremony. Niles then told Frasier he had abnormally small kidneys, indicating he would not be willing to give one to Frasier. However, in "Travels with Martin," Niles told Frasier that as his brother, Frasier was entitled to one kidney.

    • Life at KACL: This episode follows established continuity as Bulldog prepares to do his show while Frasier is on the air. Interestingly enough Frasier's first and only Seabee win does not occur within the episode proper but is framed by the final credits as Frasier and Roz accept their awards while Roz is still trying to hide her nose blemish.

    Allusions (2)

    • Frasier: (jumping up and down and hugging Roz upon hearing of his nomination for a SeaBee) Two years in a row! They like me! They really like me! This paraphrases Sally Field's gushing acceptance speech when she won the best actress Oscar a second time for the 1984 film Places in the Heart (her first win was for the 1979 film Norma Rae).

    • Title: Someone to Watch Over Me The episode title shares the same name as the 1987 film Someone to Watch Over Me Of course, it was originally the title of a classic Gershwin song recorded by such greats as Frank Sinatra and Ella Fitzgerald.
