  • Quotes (3)

    • Woody: My cousin's getting married. Frasier: Really? Niles: Which is your cousin, the bride or the groom? Woody: Actually, both are. Niles: I assume they're kissing cousins? Woody: They're doing a lot more than that! That's why they have to get married.

    • Frasier: Do you have any idea how difficult it is to feign interest in the same old stories over and over again? Niles: And you call yourself a psychiatrist? You wouldn't last a week in private practice.

    • Frasier: Well, Woody, I thought that tonight we would maybe just stay in, you know, order some pizza? Woody: Sounds good by me. Frasier: Okay, great. I'll just call the place around the corner. Niles? You, uh, going to join us? Niles: Oh, why not? Be fun to drink some beer and have some pizza with a couple of rapscallions. Woody: Oh, hey, if you don't mind, could we make that half rapscallions, half pepperoni?

    Notes (6)

    • International Episode Titles: Czech Republic: Woodyho návštěva (Woody's Visit)

    • Woody says that he remembers hearing about Martin and that he was a policeman. He must have found out from Sam when Sam visited Seattle back in Season 2 and found out that Martin was not the dead research scientist that Frasier had claimed he was back in the "Cheers" years.

    • Woody now was 2 children. In "The Show Where Sam Shows Up", it was revealed that Woody and Kelly had a son. They now also have a daughter.

    • For his work in this episode, Woody Harrelson was nominated for a 1999 Emmy for Outstanding Guest Actor in a Comedy Series.

    • Woody Harrelson reprises his role from "Cheers".

    Trivia (5)

    • When Frasier gives the tourist guide to Woody and Woody says "look at that skyline" in reference to a picture in the book and Frasier tells him to turn around we see that there is no picture in the book.

    • Frasier says Woody has been working at Cheers "for 15 years." Woody arrived in 1985 and it is now 1999, so that is only 14 years.

    • Also, Frasier appears to have forgotten about the time he got Woody elected to the Boston City Council when he says that Woody's life is "kinda sad" to Martin.

    • Frasier says something to the effect of "bless that virus that caused the girl's ear infection." Ear infections are caused by bacteria, not viruses (hence the term infection).

    • At the start of the show we find out that Woody was lost while driving around the airport, then when he is going back to Boston, he says his cab is waiting downstairs. If he had his car, why would he be taking a cab?

    Allusions (2)

    • Noel: (To Roz) Set your phasers on "stunning". Noel's lame pick-up line is a variation of a common order from Star Trek.

    • "The Show Where Woody Shows Up" follows a pattern of other episodes where "Cheers" members return. The episodes are "The Show Where Lilith Comes Back", "The Show Where Sam Shows Up", and "The Show Where Diane Comes Back".
