    • Chandler: So, you're telling me I have to tell racist jokes now? Monica: Sorry, I'm not very good at this. I'm a terrible liar and I hate having to lie to Rachel. Chandler: But, we're not ready to tell yet. Monica: I know. But since high school Rachel was the one person that I told everything to, y'know, I miss that so much now. She's my best friend.

    • Joey: Well, Chandler and Monica are over there and it's kind of hard to concentrate. Rachel: What? She just called and said she was gonna be working late. She keeps lying to me, you know what, that's it I'm just gonna go over there and I'm confronting them right now.

    • Rachel: Okay, I have to tell you something that I have never admitted in our entire friendship, but when we were in high school I made out with James Farrow even though I knew you liked him. Wow. That felt so good to get that off my chest. Okay, you go. Monica: My turn, what are you talking about? Rachel: Oh, Monica, I know about you and Chandler. Monica: What? Rachel: I overheard you guys on the phone the other day and you said 'Well, I'll just tell Rachel I'm doing laundry for a couple of hours.' and he said 'Laundry, is that my new nickname?' and you said 'No, you know what your nickname is, Mr. Big.' Monica: Well, sounds like your writing yourself a little play there, Rach. Let me know how that one turns out. Rachel: Well, I wouldn't know because I go so freaked out I hung up the phone. Monica: Well, if you had kept listening, you would have heard me call him Mr. Big... It. Rachel: What? Monica: Mr. Bigot. He tells the most racist jokes. Rachel: Alright, so that's it. You're telling me that there's nothing going on between you and Chandler. Monica: Me and Chandler? (starts fake laugh)

    • Monica: Where the hell have you been? Ross: Just you know, out. Rachel: Oh, out. Oh, God, I don't know why we didn't think to check there.

    • Chandler: I think we should let them win the next game. Monica: I'm sorry, I don't understand what you just said. Chandler: Let them win won. Monica: Are you crazy? We own those two. I mean, look at him, he can't even breathe and she's poppin' pills. Chandler: You're not even giving them a chance. Monica: They have racquets, don't they?

    • International Episode Titles: Czech Republic: Chandlerův pracovnĂ smĂch (Chandler's Work Laugh)

    • This is the only episode in season 5 that uses Chandler's name in the title.

    • Sam McMurray received the "And" credit.

    • This episode runs 22:38 on DVD (a typical sitcom runs about 22:00).

    • It was probably hard for Matthew Perry to pretend to be not very good at tennis, since in real life he's a champion player.

    Trivia (3)

    • Goof: When Janice is dumping Ross in the coffeehouse and Ross says "I annoy you, Janice?," he is holding a coffee cup with his left hand and gesturing towards Janice with his right hand. When the camera angle changes, he is gesturing with his left hand, and holding the cup with his right hand.

    • Magna Doodle: Joey - call Kim

    • Continuity: In this episode, Joey apologizes to Rachel for his crassness when describing Monica and Chandler's relationship and corrects himself, correctly using air quotes as he says the two are "making love." However, a few years later, in "The One Where Emma Cries", he tells Ross that he's never known what people mean when they use air quotes, and proceeds with a running joke in which he uses them incorrectly.

    Allusions (2)

    • Chandler: Okay, easy Martina. This refers to Martina Hingis, a former World No. 1 woman tennis player from Switzerland, who won five Grand Slam singles titles, three Australian Open, one Wimbledon, and one US Open. She held the World No. 1 singles ranking for a total of 209 weeks. He could have also been referring to former tennis champion Martina Navratilova, who Martina Hingis is named after.

    • Joey: Tom Hanks, Meg Ryan, they get mail and stuff. This is a reference to the movie You've Got Mail, starring Tom Hanks and Meg Ryan as competing business rivals who hate each other in the office but fall in love on the internet, unaware of the others true identity.
