    • Janice: I can't believe that Claude stood me up! I thought he was my soulmate!
Chandler: I thought I was your soulmate!

    • Monica: Janice, what are you doing here? Janice: Well, um, I thought I was going to go back to my apartment but then I just felt I couldn't really be alone tonight. I was wondering if I could maybe stay here with you, just I really feel that I need to be with family. Monica: (To Chandler) Our kids are gonna call her Aunt Janice, aren't they?

    • Rachel: (About Erin) Wow. I guess it wasn't Cupid that brought her here. Phoebe: No, just a regular old flying dwarf.

    • Ross: (To the Head Librarian) Hi, I was wondering, is it possible to increase security in the Paleontology section? I wrote a book that's up there, and instead of reading it people are... well, they're rolling around in front of it.

    • Joey: (To Rachel and Phoebe) Don't go judging me, you're the one who's in love with her assistant, and you, you're the one who's having an affair with the guy who keeps the pigeons on the roof. Rachel: Phoebe! Phoebe: (To Joey) Secret affair!

    Notes (3)

    • International Episode Title: France: Celui qui avait un livre √† la biblioth√®que (The One With The Book At The Library)

    • Maggie Wheeler received the "And" credit.

    • This episode runs 23:59 on DVD (a typical sitcom runs about 22:00).

    Trivia (5)

    • Goof: Rachel tells Joey to "not get married before I do." However, Rachel was already married to Ross in "The One in Vegas."

    • Factual Error: In this episode Phoebe called Erin a "stronzo," which is an Italian swearword. However, although it was established in "The One Where Ross Can't Flirt" that Phoebe speaks Italian, she uses the term incorrectly. Since Phoebe is referring to a woman, she should have said stronza, the feminine form of that noun.

    • Goof: In the opening scene Joey is eating a bowl of cereal. Once he sets the bowl down, it disappears for the rest of the scene.

    • Magna Doodle: A drawing of Earth

    • Continuity: Joey says that Chandler used to make pancakes for the girls he'd slept with the night before, but in "The One with the Princess Leia Fantasy", Chandler states he doesn't know how to make pancakes.

    Allusions (3)

    • Chandler: You don't think she's gonna want to grab the microphone and sing "Part Time Lover?" "Part Time Lover" is a 1985 song by Stevie Wonder.

    • Janice: Do you want me to sing "Careless Whisper" or "Lady In Red?" "Careless Whisper" is a 1984 song by George Michael. "Lady In Red" is a 1986 song by Chris de Burgh.

    • Monica: Well, I'd like to meet this chicken expert. Send the Colonel in! Monica is referring to Colonel Harlan Sanders, the founder of Kentucky Fried Chicken.
