  • This episode is definitely one of my most favorite of them all. Ross's discovery of his fathering skills and the beautiful beginning of Joey and Phoebe's eternal bonding.

    • Monica: (On the phone pretending to be Rachel) Hi, Dad. No, no, it's me. Listen, Dad, I can't talk right now, um, but there's something, um... there's something that I've been meaning to tell you... Rachel: (To their confused dates) Would you excuse me for a second? Notes (12)

    • International Episode Title: Czech Republic: Správná rozhodnutí (Right Decision)

    • When the show was first in casting, the producers wanted Courteney Cox to play the role of Rachel; however, she refused and asked to play Monica. In this episode, Courteney pretends to be Rachel as an attempt to commit insurance fraud.

    • George Clooney and Noah Wyle are credited as "Special Appearances."

    • Despite the title, this is one of the few two-part episodes. These episodes were originally aired in their entirety, but written to be aired separately in syndication. Trivia (10)

    • When playing Scrabble, Ross tells Phoebe that he doesn't think "scrunchy" is a word. It is, defined as "an elastic band covered with gathered fabric, used to fasten the hair, as in a ponytail". It can also be spelled "scrunchie".

    • Factual Error: Monica and Rachel were attempting to commit insurance fraud. In reality, while checking in all patients must provide ID unless it is an immediate emergency. However, it is the policy of all hospitals that they cannot turn away an obviously injured person regardless of their ability to pay. Rachel would have been treated and the issue of payment dealt with later.

    • Goof: When Monica says "We both do that," she's pointing at Rachel. When the camera angle changes her hands are on the couch, and in the next shot her hands are in her lap.

    • Continuity: Phoebe’s birthday is inconsistent. In "The One with Frank Jr." Phoebe tells her half-brother that her birthday is February 16th. Also, in "The One with Two Parts (2)" Phoebe has a birthday party in February. However, in "The One Where Nana Dies Twice" Rachel talks about Phoebe’s last birthday party. Since Rachel first met Phoebe earlier that season, this implies that Phoebe’s birthday must have occurred since September, when Rachel first joined the group. Also, in "The One with Phoebe's Birthday Dinner", Phoebe's birthday is close to Halloween, consistent with Rachel's statement. Furthermore, in "The One Where They All Turn Thirty", the flashbacks of Phoebe’s 30th birthday imply her birthday is in the summer.

    • Trivia: Here is the translation for the tag scene. Ross: Aquí está. Translation: Here it is. Monica: ¿Quién pidió el pollo General Tso? Translation: Who ordered General Tso's chicken? Chandler: ¡Pudo haber sido General Tso! Translation: It could've been General Tso! Rachel: ¡Miren, miren, el viejo desnudo está haciendo el hula hoop! Translation: Look, look, Ugly Naked Guy is doing the hula! All: ¡Hola, Joey! Translation: Hi, Joey! Joey: ¡Hola, amigos! Translation: Hey, everybody! Monica: Mira, Ross, Marcel se llevó el control remoto. Translation: Look, Ross, Marcel's got the remote. Ross: ¡Lo curioso es que no le gusta la tele! Translation: The funny thing is, he doesn't like TV!
