I thought that this was simply inspirationally written, and was extremely entertaining! Watched every episode on holidays in Germany!

Thoughtful and really worth the money that I paid importing this into Australia! I have the European box set which is in dual languages, and the original english is naturally the best - I could watch this over and over and over - shame that there are other great shows out there!

Without a doubt, this is the ultimate experience for anyone with a remote interest in the space program.

    By D-LinkUK, Jan 03, 2007

I've just recently started watching this series but i was hooked from the opening scenes.

From the Earth to the Moon chronicles, of course, that most epic of all journeys: that from our own planet to the moon. This is something that has gone relatively unrecognized within history classes, and that near omission is a crying shame. Everything that was put into something of this magnitude adds up to be one of the greatest stories telling of a nearly unrivaled triumph.

If you cannot get to watch this amazing series then like me get it on DVD, set a clear weekend aside and watch with ore.moreless

this show was just as informative as it was entertaining. i never knew that much about the early space programs until i watched this series. it was a very special thing for the producers to do. not very often does a show come along and be this good. the cast was formed of some of the best supporting and leading actors of the day.

    Brilliant Mini-Series

    By brewsblingsteen, Nov 10, 2005

Tom Hanks' love letter to the space program is a brilliant piece of television. Broken down into twelve, one-hour segments, this mini-series is visually impressive, intelligently written and beautifully acting by an impressive and mammoth cast. Mr. Hanks was the executive producer, directed the first episode, co-wrote some of the episodes and introduced each segment. He flashed his clout to get the series done and it is a true masterpiece.

How man got to the moon.

    By MrJayneCobb, Aug 25, 2005

“From the Earth to the Moon” is a dramatic overview of the steps taken to get people onto the moon. It covers the American Space Program up through Apollo 17.

An amazing all star cast plays the astronauts, ground crew and families, showing behind the scenes as well as what was up front. Each episode has a different flavor. The story matter is so rich that you get the feel that any individual segment could have been expanded into a full length movie.

Early manned space flight was the original reality programming. The world would stop to watch the lunches and listen to scratchy audio. Relive an important part of history. Watch this series, you’ll be glad you did.

An all-star cast recreates milestone event in history.

    By RJ-viewer, Jul 19, 2005

Executive Producer Tom Hanks assembled a true all star cast for this series covering the American manned space program from inception through the last visit to the moon.

Rather than take a strictly chronological approach FTETTM branches off periodically. Episodes covering topics like the development of the lunar lander and a look at how life on Earth was for astronauts wives overlap the main story arc, but are given separate episodes so that their stories can be shown with the importance they deserve rather than shoehorned in to other episodes as a side story.

If you remember some of these events you will appreciate this faithful retelling of the story. If you are not familiar with this portion of history, this is and excellent introduction that may leave you wanting to learn more about space exploration.
