  • Quotes (13)

    • Jesse: I never told you this, but... I once bought a Kathie Lee Gifford CD. Oh, boy, does that feel good to get that out in the open!

    • Papouli: Moussaka. Jesse: Mmm, it's Papouli's famous moussaka! (to Michelle and Stephanie) Smell that, girls, smell that. Isn't that delicious? Papouli, you have to give us this recipe before you leave. Papouli: No problem! This one, I got off the back of a box of Moussaka Helper. (laughs)

    • Michelle: Uncle Jesse, Papouli is teaching me how to do a Greek dance! Papouli: Come on, Jesse, what do you say we show her a few moves? Jesse: No thanks, I'm not really a dancer. Papouli: You're Greek, you dance!

    • (Jesse on the phone, and see's Michelle in the boat, then walks out to the boat) Jesse: Man, I sure had a big lunch! I guess I just have this one pudding cup left.....what to do? You know what, I think I'll just put it up here next to the other one, and come back to get it later. Well, I'm off.....(Michelle's hand goes up, Jesse grabs it) Gotcha! Michelle: That was cold.

    • Michelle: I feel like crying. Stephanie: Me too. But we can't do that in front of Uncle Jesse. Michelle: Why not? Stephanie: Because if he saw us crying, he might start to cry again too. Michelle: Uncle Jesse was crying? Stephanie: He started to. He didn't want me to see, but I did. Michelle, we've got to be brave for Uncle Jesse, and not let him know that we're sad, too. Michelle: I don't think I can do that. Stephanie: You have to. Michelle: But how can I stop myself from crying? Stephanie: Just.....think of something funny, like, um......when Joey stuffs a whole doughnut in his mouth. Michelle: Yeah, that always makes me laugh. Jesse: (walks in, on phone) All right, Aunt Elaine. I'll be there in a few days. (hangs up) Are you girls okay? Stephanie: Yeah. Jesse: You all right, Michelle? What are you doing? Michelle: (fakes a smile and stares into space) I'm thinking about Joey stuffing a whole doughnut in his mouth.

    Notes (5)

    • We learn in this episode that Jesse's grandfather used to be a fisherman.

    • This episode originally started with a disclaimer by John Stamos explaining that this was a special episode and it dealt with the subject of death. For unexplained reasons, this was cut on subsequent reruns and the DVD release.

    • This is the second time Papouli mentions Nikos, the village idiot; the first time was in "Greek Week," where Papouli compares Nikos with Joey.

    • In Papouli's story, Papouli refers to Nikos, the Village Idiot. It is also revealed that Nikos was married and had an argument with his rival, Andreas.

    • Second (and last) appearance of Papouli, who just passed away in the middle of this episode. This is also the only time he meets any of D.J.'s friends (Steve, to be exact).

    Trivia (1)

    • Papouli's wife Gina doesn't appear with him in this episode, and no explanation is ever given regarding a thing.
