    It's ok I guess...

    "That Darn Katz!"

    Grade: C

Compared to last week's episode, this one was ok (after a few re-watches) in comparison to the ones shown before it this season. It's hard to explain, but this episode felt kind of below par, and the lolcat jokes could only hold the episode's humour for so long (though it did deliver a good poster joke, which made me lol pretty hard). Many of the other jokes on this episode were hit and miss, and that can-can cat one was probably the one that fell hardest on its face the most, since it wasn't a joke Futurama uses and felt very silly for hardcore fans such as myself. The first act was the best part, and even then it was only average. I might have noticed a huge plot hole, why didn't Nibbler just eat the cats to solve the problem? He wasn't brainwashed by them, and he had enough time to do it before getting captured, so why not? Nibber probably had the best moments in this episode though.

On the positive side, we do see Amy finally getting her degree, and having Nibbler as a focus is always a nice change. Plus, we see most of the crew revisit The Hip Joint, which was a nice touch. On the other hand, the plot was kind of boring after the first act though, as the cat villians were kind of lame in my opinion (It reminded me of that movie 'Cats & Dogs'). So overall, it's one of the weaker episodes of the show, but at least this one had a purpose and a reason. Overall, I'm going to give this one a 7.5 out of 10, meaning its average but passable.moreless

Cats invade the earth?. As farsnworth would say wha???

    By carnagae1225, Jan 26, 2011

You guys are too soft. This episode was horrible. I knew it from the synopsis. Cats invade the earth. This episode was stupid from the beginning. Also the fact that it was Amy centered episode, was also a bad sign. Amy & Nibbler partnership unique as it may, lame and unneeded. Well I can't say anymore about this episode. This episode was lame, lame, lame, lame, lame, lame, lame, lame, lame, lame, lame, lame, lame, lame, lame, lame, lame, lame, lame, lame, lame, lame, lame, lame, lame, lame, lame, lame, lame, lame, lame, lame, lame, lame, lame, lame, and, did I forget lame.moreless

    Huh?

    By robertboylex, Jan 10, 2011

I didn't laugh too many times watching this episode. Actually to be totally honest I have not thought the show has been near as good as it used to be before it got cancelled since it came back on the air, like it lost the feel of the show or something. Still Futurama is way better than the other animated shows on the air now. I miss King Of The Hill but it got old and went off air at about the right time, maybe one more season would have been good. The Simpsons has been terrible for years. The show is still good and hopefully gets better again, if not it probably won't last for too long.moreless

    it was alright

    By futuramarama, Aug 28, 2010

it was alright. basically evil cats try to destroy earth. it's not that that kind of plot is too weird or anything- this show has a lot of weird plots. it's just i did not find a lot of the episode funny. mildly entertaining in some parts but I did not like the episode's plot much. One of their weaker episodes of the new season, I think, hopefully quality improves. My overall grade for this episode would be either a high D or a low C. It was an alright episode but they could've done a lot more with itmoreless

Amy and Nibbler to the rescue!

    By frosty_ice, Aug 12, 2010

When Earth is invaded by a superior race of cats, it's up to Amy and Nibbler to save the human race, from being enslaved by those evil felines, and from stopping them to stop Earth's rotation. Even though this is not the best episode in the series, it's not its worst, I can tell you. I was really pleased with this episode centering around Amy and Nibbler (the last one did not have its 15 minutes of fame in this season yet), and seeing that Amy finally got her doctorate.

Plus, it was fun to finally having an explanation for why cats were revered as gods in Ancient Egypt, and as to why the pyramids were built for. All in all, I give this one a 9.5 for its originality.moreless
