    *pukes*

    By that70sguy92, Jun 15, 2009

Yuck! That episode was disgusting, but hilarious. I would probably have eaten the Popplers though, intelligent or not. They sound tasty, lol *licks lips, then is looked at awkwardly by people near him*. It was a great idea for a story, especially the twist at the end, with Leela almost being eaten by the Omicronians, then the hippie being eaten instead *is booed for revealing the end of the episode*.

After discovering a delicious food that they name Popplers, Fry, Bender, and Leela sell them to the world. Everyone loves them, then Leela discovers that Popplers are intelligent beings when one calls her "Momma!"moreless

    Trouble with popplars

    By ShikaShAdOw, Mar 10, 2008

Wow! This is truly one of the best episodes ever, definitely on my top 5, and is easily on a par with even the best of The Simpsons. It just has everything, the triumphant return of the Omicronians, great Linda/Morbo stuff, Zapp Brannigan, and fantastic lines and jokes from the main characters. A stoned Lrrr is a wonder to behold ("Dude my hands are huge!...They can touch anything but themselves...oh, wait."), and I love the hippy-bashing from everyone. The episode also has an excellent and intelligent message about our ridiculous morality concerning eating animals, and the way we don't eat animals if we like them. This is wonderfully summed up at the end everyone eating a dolphin because it blew all its money on instant lottery tickets. Truly brilliant.

Fishy Joe's first apperance.... Pretty darn funny episode...

    By Iverson82094, Dec 13, 2007

When the Planet Express crew lands on a previously undiscovered plant, they find that it is covered in a new and delicious animal life form which they call "popplers". These edible and highly addictive "popplers" soon become a new business venture for the crew as Earthlings just can't seem to get enough of these delicacies. The dreaded Omnicrons reveal just what these "popplers" actually are, and seek restitution for Earth's "poppler" consumption. This episode is so darn hilarious at so many times. This episode never gets old. If you want to see some of Futurama at its best this is the episode for you, but keep in mind this is not the best episode in the series...moreless

When they get back they sell them and give right to fishy joe to sell them in his restaurant. But after leaving them out too long lella realizes that they are really babies of an alien race. She then joins the hippies in their fight to keep people from eating Popplers but runs into diferences and then the parents show up. They vow to eat the first human who ate their young, this being Lella. She is saved by the crew together. Funny jokes and writing, great episode.moreless

    The introduction of popplers

    By rkmcd, Nov 29, 2006

Throughly excellent, this is probably the most consistent, well-devised and, yet, so cunning and devious episode on Futurama's second season.

All the things to love about Futurama are here (interactions between characters, Bender's lines, cheap future depiction, comic aliens, etc. etc.), and the ep even takes one step beyond, by making a point about the "protection" of intelligent animals from Mankind. And, of course, the traditional mark of Futurama's intelligent humour brands the whole episode through... - "Unless this is a nude lovin', get the hell off my property!"

    - "Pfff, you can't OWN property, man."

    - "Yes, I can, and that's because I'm not a penniless hippie."

...and other snippets, like Leela crashing into the billboard exactly like on the credits presentation, Taranga Leela and Phillip Fry, the Popplers songs, and the hilarious Omnicronians... my Gosh, this episode is so dense in good stuff, that it is absolutely inexcusable if anybody misses it out. Definitely one of the best Futurama episodes ever. Grade A++.moreless

    Introduction of Fishy Joes

    By jimbo_001, Jan 31, 2006

The fact that a gorilla looks like Leela was the most absurd part of this episode. Anyway, the rest of the episode is about these popcorn chicken like food which are later discovered to be live young of Lrrr of Omicron Persei 8, who returns in this hilarious episode.

The popplers song sung by Fry and Bender is hilarious ("If you promise not to sue, you can put one up your nose") as is the annoying hippie who'd rather see a human die than an orangutan but he gets his comeuppance when he is eaten by Lrrr. This is an episode with a creative plot and great jokes such as, after Leela crashes through a Popplers billboard "That's the second billboard you've crashed into this week!"moreless
