    • Goliath: (about Broadway) Where's he off to in such a hurry? Lexington: Ah, he's going to see Showdown again. Goliath: "Showdown"? Brooklyn: Yeah, it's a wWestern. Great movie. We all saw it the other day. Lexington: You know: cowboys, horses, guns... Goliath: It must be good, if he didn't have his dinner first.

    • Broadway: (taking a gun from a crook) What's this? A new kind of gun? (angrier) A new way to kill people!

    • Broadway: (wielding Elisa's gun) Let's go, Pilgrim! And don't forget your horse!

    • Broadway: Elisa, it was all my fault. I was playing with your gun and... it went off. I'll never touch a gun again. Elisa: I should have been a lot more careful about where I left it. We both made mistakes. Broadway: Yeah, but you nearly paid for those mistakes with your life. Elisa: Then let's not repeat them.

    • Owen: Mr. Xanatos isn't going to like this. Goliath: I'll be happy to discuss the matter with him.

    • Michael Reaves was nominated for the 1995 Annie Award for "Best Individual Achievement for Writing in the Field of Animation" for this episode.

    • This episode, along with "Enter Macbeth" is available on VHS as Gargoyles: The Force Of Macbeth.

    • Beth Maza appears in the family photo early in the episode, and is mentioned by the Mazas to be in college. She makes her first appearance in #2-5 of Marvel Comic's shortlived Gargoyles series, though those stories aren't considered by Weisman canon. Her first full canon appearance is in the episode "The Cage"

    • TV Guide praised the series for doing this episode.

    • This episode only aired on Toon Disney, for the first time as part of a Gargoyles Halloween marathon, airing all 78 episodes in a span of 4 nights, starting October 28, 2002. It aired out of original airing order, however, airing the last hour of the night along with the following episode "Enter MacBeth." Various blood shots were removed and Elisa's face was zoomed in instead of view her body with the puddle of blood next to her. The Fox Family version uses the same cut to avoid Elisa's blood as Toon Disney's (The DVD of the first season contains the uncensored version of the episode). As of 2004, the episode would air on a regular basis on Toon Disney.

    Trivia (1)

    • There are actually two endings for this episode. In the original, at the end when the sun rises Goliath and Broadway are seen taking up frightening poses. This is later explained in the second season episode "Bushido" that In Scotland gargoyles face outwards and adopt poses to frighten away enemies, and Goliath did state that he and Broadway would protect Elisa. However for some reason (probably due to complaints about the already mature tone of this episode) the ending was edited, with Goliath and Broadway now taking the far more neutral forms that they usually do at sleep. Disney would later go on to pull the episode from further Gargoyles airings due to the same complaints.
