  • show Description
  • Where there is light, shadows lurk and fear reigns. By the blade of Knights, mankind was given hope. Aimed at an older audience than most other Japanese tokusatsu ("special effects") shows, GARO follows the adventures of Kouga Saejima and rest of the Makai Knights as they protect humanity from the rising threat of the Horrors. Despite the series ending in 2006, GARO will return in 2010 with the feature film GARO: Red Requiem.moreless

  • Trivia & Quotes
  • Quotes (58)

    • Kaoru: The golden knight from the picture book in my memories appeared before my eyes. However, this is only the beginning of a new knight's legend.

    • Zaruba: Demon beasts called Horrors live in the darkness. This is the story about a Makai Knight who cuts down the Horrors. You better not look away.

    • Narrator: Where there is light, shadows lurk and fear reigns. By the blade of Knights, mankind was given hope.

    • Kaoru: As long as evil exists in the hearts of humans, Horrors will probably continue to appear perpetually. That's why since ancient times, outside the sight of man, the Makai Knight has continued his fight. Kouga Saejima. Why did that man save me?

    • Kaoru: I have no time. I want my personal exhibition to come, even if only a day sooner. I want to become an artist, even if it's one second sooner. But right before my eyes, a large wall stands before me. Depressingly... I began to realize it.

    • Kaoru: There are still many mysteries concerning the man, Kouga Saejima. But I'm sure of this much... he continues to fight to protect people. And, that explosion of emotions... it was a mix of sadness and anger. Those emotions made him seem very human.

    • Kaoru: My mother never taught me how to cook. For one thing, I don't have any happy memories of being with my family. My parents died when I was young so I was always alone. I've always had misunderstandings or diagreements with family and boyfriends. I suppose it'd be even worse for total strangers to live in the same house.

    • Gonza: (on Kouga) He lost his parents at an early age. The only one he could call his family is just me, his butler. That's why he doesn't involve himself with strangers. He sees tolerance as stifling. So that's why he has a bit of a 'bad mood'.
