    • (Max and 99 have been captured by Hans Hunter) Max: Right now, as we speak, General Crawford and 100 of his crack paratroopers are preparing to land right on this island. (Hunter scoffs) Max: Would you believe J. Edgar Hoover and ten of his G-men? (Hunter laughs and shakes his head) Max: How about Tarzan and a couple of his apes?

    • (Max has just killed Hunter with an exploding cigarette) 99: Oh, Max, how terrible. Max: He desereved it, 99. He was a KAOS killer. 99: Sometimes I wonder if we're any better, Max. Max: What are you talking about, 99? We have to shoot and kill and destroy. We represent everything that's wholesome and good in the world!

    Allusions (1)

    • The character of Hans Hunter seems to be based on a character named General Zaroff from the short story The Most Dangerous Game, written by Richard Connell in 1924.  In the story, Zaroff is a Cossack nobleman, and at one time in the army, is a big game hunter who feel his skills can only truly be put to the test by hunting human prey.  Incidentally, the character Hans Hunter was a former Nazi, communist, and member of the mafia.
