    • Robb: (after getting three EVPs at Chillingham) I hope we never get to a point where we're happy with the evidence we have- we're always going to want more evidence.

    • Jason: Robb is an investigator from my Florida TAPS team. His methodology, his leadership, his scepticism, puts him as a perfect candidate to run this Europe team.

    • Andy: The one thing that I take with me everywhere is my debunking skills. That's my thing, I'm a debunker.

    • Andy: I'm really curious to see this- if we do EVP work in Italy, are they going to be answering us in Italian?

    • Robb: As a TAPS family member, I follow the same protocols set out by Jason and Grant. I will dismiss any evidence that I personally cannot prove as paranormal.

    • Donna: I feel very uneasy, and I feel my stomach's getting that butterfly feeling. And it's not because we're in a dark room in a 800 year old castle, either.

    • Andy: I like Robb's style on the EVP. There's personality to his questions, which hopefully that inflection in the voice and that feeling in the questions is able to be picked up on by any spirits who might be hanging out there.

    • Disembodied Voice: Go now.

    • This is not Shannon Sylvia's first appearance on a paranormal investigation TV show, but her first as an investigator. She appeared previously on the Paranormal State episode "School House Haunting" as a homeowner with a haunted house needing some answers.

    • Both locations in this episode were previously investigated by the British paranormal television show Most Haunted, "Chillingham Castle" in the first season, and "Mary King's Close" in the fourth. Most Haunted returned to Mary King's Close in the eighth season Live episode, during their third night investigating the haunted history of Edinburgh. Chillingham Castle has also been investigated on The Scariest Places on Earth in its first season episode "Chillingham", and its second season episode "Return To Chillingham".

It has also been featured on the second season episodes "Lucedio: Cursed Italian Monastery Dare" and "Return To Lucedio: The Cursed Italian Monastery Dare" onĀ Scariest Places On Earth.

    Trivia (147)

    • Both Barry and Chillingham historian Richard Marsh are wearing red poppies on their lapels. These are worn in the UK and other Commonwealth countries to celebrate members of those countries' armed forces who died during WWI. Remembrance Day (also known as Poppy Day) is observeded on the second Sunday of November, though its official date is November 11 since the Armistice of WWI was signed on November 11, 1918. It's not unusual to see people wearing poppies a week before the actual holiday, however, as Barry and Richard do here.

    • Brian joins Robb at the Reveal after the investigation of Mary King's Close, rather than Andy, as is usual.

    • The investigation of Chillingham Castle occurred on November 4-5, 2007, according to the date embedded in the camera footage. The investigation of Mary King's Close took place on July 15-16, 2007.

    • Also Appearing: Investigation 1: Chillingham Castle - Chillingham, England Richard Marsh - Castle Historian Sir Humphry Wakefield, Bt - Castle Owner Investigation 2: Mary King's Close - Edinburgh, Scotland Roger Beale - Staff Historian Mark Clement - Historian Cai Phillips - Tour Guide Special Thanks: The Real Mary King's Close Sir Wakefield Bt., Chillingham Gastle

    • Andy: (as they climb the 1,400+ steps to the citadel) Did you ever hear of the little train that could? The name of the story Andy refers to is actually The Little Engine That Could, and tells the inspirational tale of a train engine that manages to climb a high mountain through persistence while repeating the mantra "I think I can, I think I can..."

    • Josh: (as they tour the German brewery) Very Laverne and Shirley in here! The 1970s TV show Laverne and Shirley featured Penny Marshall (Laverne) and Cindy Williams (Shirley) as two blue collar, working class girls who made a living capping bottles in the Shotz Brewery.

    • Dustin: (about Barry and Andy) It turns out they're pretty good amateur plumbers. I can think of two other plumbers who became ghost hunters who'd be pretty proud of these guys. This is a reference to Jason Hawes and Grant Wilson, the founding members of TAPS and the stars of Ghost Hunters, as well as being plumbers for Roto-Rooter.

    • Brandy: The fortress itself was constructed in 1747. The name was actually given in honour of the Spanish king, Phillip the Fifth, who reigned in Spain...
      Robb: Mostly on the plain?
      (Dustin and Robb laugh)
      Brandy: (confused) What? What?!
Dustin: We'll make a lady out of you yet!

Dustin and Robb are alluding to the musical My Fair Lady, in which a Cockney flower seller Eliza is transformed by Professor Higgins into a high charming lady. One of the best known songs from the musical is "The Rain in Spain", which Prof Higgins has Eliza sing to practice her elocution.

    • Paul: Ah, I love it when a plan comes together! Paul is quoting one of the most memorable lines from the 1980s TV show The A-Team, which was about a group of Vietnam veterans who became mercenaries for hire after being framed and imprisoned for a crime they didn't commit.

    • Pirates of the Caribbean:
This episode title is referencing the wildly popular Johnny Depp movies of the same name, which in turn was inspired by Disney's Pirates of the Caribbean ride.
