  • Rory had every right to be mad at Lorelai...and the younger Gilmore girl stood out here.

  • This episode really was different... I mean the story is changing quite a bit now. It is still a good story though.

  • Just a little boring... Lorelai was weird, loved Rory, and Luke has got to stop calling April 'sweetie'.

    • Rory: Just once, you could call me and tell me you are coming home like a normal person. Logan: Normal is boring, normal is overrated, normal is not why you love me. (they kiss)

    • Lorelai: (after pulling a shirt out of Chris' laundry basket) Oh, my God! You dirty thief! Chris: Excuse me? Lorelai: You stinking, lying, stinking, dirty, ratty thief. Chris: What? Lorelai: This is my Police Synchronicity t-shirt! I have been missing this for 22 years! I asked you if you had it. I looked you right in the face and you denied it! Chris: I lied. Lorelai: Oh, you lied! You lied! Do you know how long I looked for this?! (Chris laughs at her) Lorelai: Days and days. I accused my mother of throwing it out. And she said she didn't. And oh, my God, I hated her. Oh, my God, I could have had the best relationship with her if you hadn't stolen my shirt. Well, keep laughing, buddy, because I'll tell you, the laugh's on you. You better get used to seeing this shirt cause I have to make up for 22 years of not wearing it. (puts it on)

    • Lorelai: Hey. Luke: Oh hey. Hi. Lorelai: How is she [April]? Luke: Yeah, okay. It was appendicitis like you said. But she's, she's okay. I mean, the operation went really great. They got it out, no problem. She's gonna be fine. And I'm gonna be able to see her pretty soon. Lorelai: Good, good. Luke: Yeah. You didn't, you know you didn't have to come. But thanks for coming. Lorelai: There's nothing worse than taking your kid to the emergency room. You know, I remember when Rory had food poisoning and they had to hook her up to an I.V. She just looked so little and scared. It made me feel like they were gonna have to hook me up to an I.V. Luke: Yeah I was almost out of my mind I was so scared. I mean at one point, I got so panicked, I thought maybe they could give her my appendix. You know, do some kind of transplant or something. I was, you know, a little out of my mind. Lorelai: (smiling) Well, I'm glad she's gonna be okay. Luke: Yeah, she's gonna be alright. (a doctor approaches them) Doctor: Mr. and Mrs. Nardini? Luke: Oh, no no no. Hi, I'm Luke Danes. I'm April's dad. Doctor: Well, she's a little out of it right now, but you and your wife can go in and see her. Luke: No, she's not my... Lorelai: No. I'm not, uh... (Luke sees Lorelai's ring and looks upset) Doctor: Oh, sorry. I just assumed. (awkward pause) So, would both of you like to go and see... Luke: I'll just go and see... Lorelai: You go. Luke: Okay all right. (he leaves with the doctor) (Lorelai looks upset and leaves the hospital)

    • Lorelai: So... Rory: What? Lorelai: What do you think? Rory: I don't know, Mom...I can't believe you did this. Lorelai: Are you mad? Rory: Yes, I'm mad! Lorelai: Rory-- Rory: No, don't! Lorelai: All right, okay, but-- Rory: No, Mom, I can't do this now, because Dad is about to come back in, and...I just can't right now.

    • Luke: (to April, who's engrossed in a textbook) You hungry? April: Uh-huh. Luke: You want some juice? April: Uh-huh. Luke: Notice my hair is green? April: Uh-huh. (Luke closes textbook on her) Hey! Luke: Dinner's ready. April: Five more minutes? Luke: After dinner. Wash your hands. What's so interesting, anyway? April: Hyperphagia. Luke: Oh. Right. Cool.

    Trivia (12)

    • When Lorelai and Christopher tell Rory that they were married in France they state that they did it in a little church and Lorelai makes a comment that it was performed in French so she is not sure if they are legally married. All marriages in France must first be performed by a French civil authority, often the mayor in a small town, before any religious ceremony can take place. Any marriage that was performed solely by a clergy would not be legal. The common practice in France is to be married at the town hall the day before the church ceremony. Also To be married in France one of the parties to be married must reside in France for at least 40 days immediately preceding the marriage.

    • While telling Lorelai about his redecoration plans for Rory's room, Christopher doesn't consider how Rory might react to the changes. He proceeds as if Rory won't be there anymore and takes over her bedroom for his daughter GG. Similarly, he shows very little concern about how Rory will react to their impromptu wedding. That's very typical of Christopher who has shown nothing throughout the years but his selfishness. In season 6, when TJ wants to use Rory's room for the kitchen extension, Luke rushes to close the door, very concerned about Lorelai's feelings on the issue. Just as he was very awkward about telling Rory that he and her mother were engaged, again very concerned about hurting Rory.

    • In this episode, when Lorelai goes to visit Rory at Logan's apartment, Rory asks if she took Christopher's name, Hayden and Lorelai says: "No. No. "Hayden"? No. I don't want to be Mrs. Hayden planetarium for the rest of my life. I'm Lorelai Gilmore, okay? Lorelai Gilmore without the "Gilmore" is like... Gil, you know, less. Okay." But in the previous episode, French Twist, when Lorelai and Christopher arrive home, Chris tells her: "Welcome home, Mrs. Hayden.". Probably the previous episode is the wrong one, because we will see Lorelai using Gilmore on the episode 'To Whom It May Concern.' Possible explanation: Because they rushed into their marriage, they probably hadn't discussed the name change issue. Christopher calling Lorelai Mrs. Hayden was perhaps just the giddiness newly weds feel after their wedding.

    • Notice that Luke calls April "sweetie" throughout this episode, which serves as a nice indication of their well-established relationship as father and daughter, but given Luke's gruff, rough-around-the-edges exterior throughout the series, it does seem awkward for many long-time viewers. The writers obviously agreed, because after this episode, the "sweetie" thing was completely dropped.

    • In the scene where Logan and Rory are talking to Bobby and Trip, Logan's jacket switches from being buttoned up to unbuttoned several times as the camera angle changes.

    • Rory: What? No! No, I'm Fran Lebowitz. It's supposed to be fun, frothy, lighthearted satire, social anthropology. Fran Lebowitz is an American author. • Lorelai: This is my Police "Synchronicity" t-shirt. I have been missing this for 22 years! Synchronicity is the fifth album by The Police, released in 1983. Their most popular release together, Synchronicity includes perhaps their best-known single, "Every Breath You Take".
