Fox Announces Fall 2014 Premiere Dates for Gotham, Brooklyn Nine-Nine, and More

You're probably just getting used to your summer sunburn, but Fox is already thinking ahead to the fall. The network has followed NBC, CBS, and The CW in announcing its autumn premiere dates, kicking things off in early September with a reality fueled head start, courtesy of new series Utopia. But the meat of the network's premieres will wait for the traditional premiere week in late September.

Utopia, which combines elements of Survivor with Big Brother as contestants create a new society in the wilderness, launches with a two-hour premiere on Sunday, September 7. After that it will move to two nights a week, occupying an hour on both Tuesdays and Fridays. Hell's Kitchen also gets a jump on the rest of Fox's schedule, starting Wednesday, September 10.

The network's lady-centric comedies return Tuesday, September 16 with the season premieres of New Girl and The Mindy Project. The following day sees the launch of new series The Red Band Society, about kids who bond while they're in the hospital. A little bird named Kaitlin told me that the pilot is really good and the kids are not annoying, so it's got that going for it.

But you're hear to find out when Gotham, the Batman prequel without Batman, will debut. Mark your bat calendars with a bat marker for Monday, September 22 at 9pm, where it will share an evening with the Season 2 premiere of Sleepy HollowBones' tenth season debuts later that week, on Thursday, September 25.

On Sunday, September 28, Animation Domination Sundays return with less animation. The Simpsons gets things started at 8pm followed by the very undrawn Brooklyn Nine-Nine at 8:30pm (I'm so curious to see how the show will do on Sundays when it's sandwiched between cartoons) and the special Family Guy / Simpsons hour-long crossover episode at 9pm.

Gracepoint, Fox's adaptation-slash-carbon-copy of the U.K.'s Broadchurch, starts its 10-episode run on Thursday, October 2 at 9pm after Bones. Fox's Sundays revert to their (new) normal shape on October 5, with Bob's Burgers and live-action multi-cam comedy Mulaney joining the block. Straggling along to bring up the rear will be MasterChef Junior, which premieres Friday, November 7.

Here's how all of that looks in easy-to-read list format (new shows are in ALL CAPS):

Your start time for Gotham is 9pm in the article, but the schedule says Sleepy Hollow at 9 and Gotham is at 8pm.

I have a bad feeling about scheduling Brooklyn Nine-Nine on Sunday nights opposite Sunday Night Football. I hope that Fox moves it back to Tuesday nights eventually so it won't get killed in the ratings.

Sometimes Sunday night football is not all the time spectacular because they do have some pros and cons in random. So this show will do well on Sunday Nights!

I really hope UTOPIA get canceled really soon! All the Endemol junk need to get taken off TV!

It's good to hear that the pilot of Red Band Society is good, it's trailer was alright, but I liked the premise enough to decide to watch it this fall. It has the kind of premise that if done right it could be fantastic, but if done wrong could be really crappy.

Another fall season on fox that will be interrupted by baseball just as people are getting into the new shows.
