  • Quotes (2)

    • Doc Adams (referring to Festus): "Tell you somethin' Matt, that old mule's gonna need a little rest. Yes sir. Ya know by golly, I was doggone worried about him this time, sure was. Now don't go tell him I said that."

    • John Woolfe (to Rance): "I can't think of anything except the law that'd make you stick with anything long enough to work up a sweat."

    Trivia (3)

    • Nitpick: Buck Henry thwarts the law and takes matters into his own hands, yet he isn't penalized at all. He is guilty of assault on a lawman after bludgeoning Festus and tying him to the bed, yet when Festus returns to Dodge he is alone and there is no mention of any consequences for these seemingly serious actions. Wouldn't Buck Henry at the very least have had to do some jail time, or at least be detained until a suitable punishment could be deemed?

    • Buck Henry is seen heartily cracking Festus across the back of his head with an iron skillet. With a blow to the head that hard with such a blunt object, it seems very likely that Buck Henry would have smashed his skull, not simply given him a minor concussion.

    • Nitpick: When Buck Henry exchanges fire with his uncle outside the saloon, the wind is whipping every object around it in a furious frenzy. As fiercely as it is blowing, and with the establishment's open and unshielded entrance, it doesn't even so much as ruffle anyone's hair when they are shown the next minute back inside.
