Quotes (224)

  • Sang Min: What kind of cops are you? Steve: The new kind.

  • Steve: I've been tracking Victor Hesse for five years; if he was bold enough to surface, I promise you, he already has an exit strategy planned and he knows I know it. Which means, I can barely afford the hour it's going to take to bury my father, let alone stand here talking to you. Excuse me. Governor Jameson: I can help you find the son of a bitch! With full immunity and means. Your task force will have blanket authority to go after guys like Hesse and get them the hell of my island. Your rules, my backing, no red tape.

  • Steve: I take it your marriage didn't end well. Danny: No, it would have, had my ex not remarried and dragged my daughter to this pineapple-infested hellhole. Steve: You don't like the beach? Danny: No, I don't like the beach. Steve: Who doesn't like the beach? Danny: I like cities, you know, skyscrapers, no tsunamis, no jellyfish. Steve: Tell me you can swim. Danny: Can I swim? Steve: You don't know how to swim. Danny: I know...how..I swim...I swim for survival, not for fun.

  • Danny: Hey, Hey , Hey! This guy, Doran's a shooter; we shouldn't be doing this without backup. Steve: You are the backup. Danny: I'm the back up… I hate him... I hate him so much.

  • (Steve is explaining the special type of shoe Hesse wears and why the boot print is not his) Danny: (to Steve) Your brain must be a miserable place.

  • Danny: Is everything gonna become a personal mission for you? You hang a guy off a roof because you lost your father? Steve: Danny, you know what... Danny: I swear to God, I just wanna know. I wanna know because if everything is gonna become a personal mission to you, I count my odds at job security, not to mention survival pretty slim. Okay? We are partners. So if you are going to be the shoot first, ask questions later type of a guy, I would at least like to be consulted so I know when to duck.

  • Danny: If a suspect dies, he no longer has the ability to speak! Ergo, he's useless to us! Steve: (To guy he's hanging off roof) You think anybody's gonna care? You just killed two people, buddy! I'd be doing the world a favor! Danny: That's enough! Chin: Ladies! You can stop now. I got a fingerprint match off an Interpol database. Steve: Ergo? Danny: You and I are gonna have a long talk later, you understand? Get him up!

  • Steve: It's the tie, no one is Hawaii wears a tie. Danny: Oh, I'm sorry, I like to look like a professional. Steve: Professional what? Danny: Okay, this is my favorite tie. Grace gave me this tie for father's day. Oh and also, so you know, back in Jersey and every normal city in this country, this is what a detective looks like. (Referencing his dress)

Danny says this in reference to Steve using the dust from a bag inside a vacuum cleaner and a feather from a duster in order to get finger prints- instead of using Kono's fingerprint kit in her car. This alludes to the kids science program " Bill Nye: The Science Guy ". Bill Nye wants to foster a scientifically literate society, helping people understand and appreciate the science that makes our world work. He is a scientist, engineer, comedian, author, and inventor, but is known for his kids program. He has also made guest appearances in some episodes of scripted televisions series, such as Stargate Atlantis.
