    • Christina: What's our status report? ICU Nurse: Nobody died last night. Christina: Great! I'm glad to hear Mrs. Lachman is still with us. ICU Nurse: She's too mean to die.

    • Kelly: Three of us complained about verbal abuse from doctors. Christina: Put it in writing. Kelly: Uhm, and six nurses think that Nick the paramedic is really hot. Christina: Make that seven.

    • (after Ray talks to Dr. Marshall on the phone) Cheryl: Don't tell me. Ray: (imitating Dr. Marshall) 'You nurses have gotta stop calling me for every little thing. If I wrote it, I meant it.' Cheryl: I said don't tell me. Ray: (still imitating Dr. Marshall) 'Who do you think you are questioning my orders?' Cheryl: Well, you're a nurse. Ray: Yes, I am. And really, I could've gone to med school. Cheryl: In Paraguay. But in the real world, you're a nurse.

    • Amanda Hawthorne: And what about our other agreement? As of tomorrow, I will get custody of Michael's ashes for a year. Would you like me to have them picked up or would you like to deliver them? Christina: Amanda, you don't expect me to give Michael's remains to FedEx? Amanda Hawthorne: They are more reliable than you are. Christina: Okay. Excuse me, but a patient needs my unreliable attention. (walks away)

    • (after Corporal Sharp overdoses on insulin) Mr. Sharp: I worried myself sick thru my boy's two tours. And mercifully, he comes home. I finally get a chance to exhale, and now this. You jokers can point fingers all you want. But this hospital better get their story straight, because I'm going to file a lawsuit. And I'm transferring my son the hell out of here first thing tomorrow. Do me a favor, will ya'? Tom: Name it. Mr. Sharp: Try not to kill him tonight.

    • Christina: I thought this was a budget meeting. Tom: It is. Dr. Marshall: Oh, then why don't we discuss the cost-benefit of firing those reckless nurses who put the hospital at risk for litigation? Christina: Absolutely! If we're also prepared to talk about how doctors do the same thing. But I forgot, doctors don't get fired.

    • (after Christina learns Camille is sleeping over at her grandma's) Christina: I hope this isn't some excuse for you and psycho-Susan to sneak out and buy some weed. Camille: Pretty girls don't buy their own pot. Christina: I know that, thank you. Camille: I love you, mom. Christina: I know that too.

    • David: Sticks and stones, Christina. Sticks and stones. And I suppose jumping off buildings can break my bones.

    • Carl: What happens in Richmond Trinity, stays in Richmond Trinity. It is a play on the popular phrase, "What happens in Vegas, stays in Vegas." It just means Carl wouldn't tell anyone about what transpired between Christina and the ER patient.

    • Mrs. Lachman: Goodnight Barbie, give my best to Ken. Barbie was introduced in 1959 at toy show in New York. Ken has been Barbie's boyfriend since 1961. The dolls are made by the Mattel Toy Company.

    • Bobbie: (to Kelly) I told her you're our resident Columbo. Columbo is the fictional detective portrayed by Peter Falk in the long-running NBC crime drama of the same name.

    • Camille: Take me out?... I'm not asking you to take me out. It's this song, 'Take Me Out'. Scottish band? "Take Me Out", which ranked No.3 in the UK charts, was the second single of the Scottish rock band Franz Ferdinand.

    • Ray: This guy over here, he's with the dispatch. He's doing an expose about this place on the Sunday paper. I'm his deep throat. Candy: Ewww! While Ray was alluding to the pseudonym of the anonymous informant who fed Bob Woodward information regarding the role of former US President Richard Nixon in the Watergate scandal, Candy was thinking about a particular sex act depicted in the 1972 pornographic film Deep Throat.

    • Alex Lewison: If you go on record, they will run your photo. You could be just like Julia Roberts in that lawsuit movie. In 2000, Julia Roberts played the title character in Erin Brockovich, a drama film based on the true story of a legal clerk who won a multi-million dollar case settlement with the behemoth energy corporation Pacific Gas and Electric Company.

    • Christina: Bond. Tom Bond. "Bond. James Bond." is the famous line of the fictional British Secret Intelligence Service officer James Bond, often dressed in a fancy suit, whenever he introduces himself in the numerous films made about his spy missions since the 1960's.

    • Christina: Good luck with David Duke. David Duke is arguably the most well-known racist, white supremacist, and anti-Semite in the United States. He is also a former Grand Wizard of the Knights of the Ku Klux Klan.
