    • James O'Reilly: KFC's been innovating in the chicken category for years. We launched the KFC Snacker in 2005; it is meant for the burger customer. The burger consumer wants food to be portable.

    • Pete DeLuca: People would ask me, "Where do you work?" And I'd say, "Pete's Submarine," and they'd say, "Pizza Marine. Well, what kind of pizza do you sell?" So I, uh, looked for a name that was hard to mispronounce, and one day the name "Subway" came up, and we converted the store to Pete's Subway for a year, and then made it straight Subway.

    • James O'Reilly: (of Colonel Sanders) He started franchising Kentucky Fried Chicken when he was 65. So, at an age when most people are retiring and starting to slow down in life, he was still inventing and creating.
