  • First the wannabes have to learn how make a gourmet pizza, with pretty predictable consequences, and then have to serve the winning effort for tonights special.

  • The pizza challenge was good, Vanessa went home because she felt she could not give it 100 percent. I admire her for trying.

  • Trivia & Quotes
  • Quotes (10)

    • Chef Ramsay: It's unfortunate that Vanessa's burn took her out of the competition. We will never, ever know if she really had what it takes to win Hell's Kitchen.

    • Matt: (in an interview segment) I definitely don't deserve to go home tonight and anyone who thinks I do is a ****.

    • Chef Ramsay: Matt, can I have some decent eggs? They're like Pamela Anderson's ****ing implants. You still served them to me.

    • Vanessa: If I can't give 100%, Chef, I don't want to be here. Chef Ramsay: What a shame.

    • Vanessa: I don't like being in a kitchen and not being able to cook the way that I'm used to cooking and it's killing me.

    Trivia (5)

    • This is the first time that a chef was not eliminated along with the person who is forced to leave for medical reasons. It is not, however, the first time that there was no contestant eliminated from the competition for their failure during a dinner service. In the third season Melissa was shifted to the Blue Team rather than being eliminated immediately.

    • For the first time, both kitchens complete a dinner service successfully.

    • Dinner Service: Vanessa bows out of the competition during prep, so the Teams are even, However, as the second part of their punishment, the Blue Team must be ready to deliver Jen's pizza special to customers in their homes at a moment's notice.

    • Reward Challenge The chefs are given 150 gourmet ingredient and 45 minutes to create an upscale pizza. Each chef is told to make their own pizza, and then each Team will pick the one they consider best to present to Chef Ramsay. The ladies select Jen's "Little Bit of Italy, Little Bit of France" pizza- herbed crust, prosciutto, and sundried tomatoes among the toppings. The men pick Ben's, which includes duck confit and chanterelle mushrooms. Chef Ramsay declares it a very close contest, but gives the win to the Red Team, because Ben's mushrooms weren't cleaned well enough. The ladies' reward is to go to Santa Barbara's "Square One"- the home of the $90 hamburger- for lunch. Jen's pizza will also be the feature in the next service. The men must prep the pizza dough for the next day's service.

    • Best of the Worst: None Nominees for Elimination: The Blue Team's Louross and the Red Team's Christina. Eliminated: Neither. However, Vanessa withdrew voluntarily because of her injury.
