  • Episode Description
  • Sixteen chefs compete in the premiere of the eighth season of Hell's Kitchen. The chefs arrive at Hell's Kitchen only to find the doors locked and new maitre d' to greet them. They are whisked away for a visit to the restaurant where the winner will become executive chef. Back at Hell's Kitchen, Chef Ramsay divides the chefs into teams of women and men, with their first challenge being to create their signature dishes. Several impress, but one causes Chef Ramsay to vomit. One of the aspiring chefs passes out before the start of service and is rushed to the hospital, forced to exit the competition. Massive delays during dinner service lead customers to exit Hell's Kitchen and neither team completes the first service.moreless

  • Quotes (13)

    • Chef Ramsay: The only thing positive I can say about Lisa's performance tonight-- she didn't kill anyone.

    • Chef Ramsay: You all have a choice. Get serious or get out. Now **** off.

    • Chef Ramsay: Sabrina. Sabrina: Please give me another chance, Chef. Chef Ramsay: Shut it. Back in line.

    • Chef Ramsay: Congratulations. So far you're a joke. There's no winning team.

    • Chef Ramsay: Raj! Help them or **** off! Raj: (in an interview segment) It was fairly abusive on his part. I'm a little bit worried about Chef Ramsay's... whew... you know, karma.

    Trivia (3)

    • Rewards Challenge: Once again, the cooking of the signature dishes was the initial challenge for the Red Team and the Blue Team. This challenge ended in a tie of 3-3 (the chefs were paired off and in some cases neither were awarded a point), which was left to Chef Ramsay to break. He awarded the victory to the Blue Team based on the Red Team having the worst individual dish. Reward / Punishment: For winning, the Blue Team enjoyed champagne, caviar and massages from beautiful women on the Hell's Kitchen patio. For losing, the Red Team had to clean the kitchen.

    • Nominees for Elimination: There was no winning team in this episode, which meant that Chef Ramsay told both teams to nominate two of their members for elimination. The Blue Team nominated Raj for not being able to get it together and being delusional about the quality of his performance and Trevor for holding up appetizers. The Red Team nominated Lisa for a terrible performance on the fish station and Sabrina for a lack of teamwork during dinner service. Eliminated: Lisa

    • Out Before Service: During the prep for service, Antonia suffered a terrible migraine and then fainted. She was rushed to the hospital and it was announced just before the evening's elimination that she would not be returning.
