  • Iolaus: Wait, wait, wait, wait! Who's the God of War around here?
Ares 2: Shh! No, no, no, no, no, no, no. Don’t even think about him. The last thing we need around here is that maniac Cupid showing up. Mmm!
Iolaus: Cupid? God of War? Weird.

  • Iolaus: (referring to The Sovereign and Xena 2) Their foreplay's gonna get me killed!

  • Ares: (laughingly introducing Hercules to Iolaus 2) You lose your little buddy? Well, I found someone to take his place. (he laughs again)

  • Iolaus: Xena, you're with him?! (She kicks him in the crotch)
Xena 2: When I want a eunuch, I'll ask for one.

  • Gabrielle: Where's the Trojan Elephant that stopped me?!

  • Hercules: Look, I don't know who you are or what you're doing, but we have to talk. Where did you come from? Iolaus 2: Uh, I got my start at The Comedy Cave in Hellespont. I know, it's a dive, but you gotta start somewhere, right? Ares: He starts to mime, he's a dead man.

  • Hercules: Oh come on. Me, a tyrant? I mean, you're joking, right? Iolaus 2: Oh no, you're a heartless psycho who'd kill at the drop of a mood swing!

Notes (2)

  • Disclaimer: No beard-wearing, love-spewing, smooth talking, Ares impersonaters were harmed during the production of this motion picture.

  • There was some disappointment expressed by the fans over the internet after this episode aired because the credits spoiled a joke. Anyone paying attention to the opening credits knew that Renee O'Connor was to appear in the show, so when the Executioner came on they knew it had to be her.

Trivia (4)

  • In addition to the Strange World's Ares and Aphrodite having different roles, Hera 2 is said to be the Goddess of Music and Cupid 2 the God of War.

  • This is the only Hercules episode to feature the three major players of Xena within one installment. The characters of Xena, Gabrielle, and Joxer all appear in this episode. However, they all play parallel versions of themselves. It is also the last appearance of Joxer on Hercules (though Ted Raimi did appear in a later episode).

  • The Ares God of Love outfit is a white version of Ares's original outfit (last seen in Xena's "The Furies").

  • Iolaus wears the red outfit that Iolaus 2 will be wearing in season five. Interestingly, he brings it back with him to the regular world, so Iolaus 2 must have a spare outfit.
