  • Quotes (7)

    • Brad: Mr. Leonard, Dad says you were the greatest shop teacher of all time. Mr. Leonard (to Tim): You can stop kissing up, I passed you.

    • Wilson: Tim, are you speaking metaphorically? Tim: No, I'm just making a comparison.

    • Mr. Leonard (to Tim): When I could get you to calm down and stop trying to set the principal on fire, you showed real talent.

    • Mr. Leonard (about retirement): The only good thing about it is the set of golf clubs they gave me. Tim: I didn't know you played golf. Mr. Leonard: I don't, I melted them down and made a lamp. Tim: Hey, I melt down gifts all the time. Randy: And not always on purpose.

    • Jill: You're so cute, trying to impress your teacher. Tim: I'm just trying to make up for the last impression I made on him. Left a three inch gash in his forehead.

    Notes (1)

    • According to Mr. Leonard, Tim glued his head to a table in high school. Tim tries to say that he never did that again, and Mark tries to interrupt and say that he did. Tim did in fact glue his head to a table during the episode "Forever Jung."

    Trivia (2)

    • In the opening scene of the episode, Tim shows Jill a red lopsided toolbox that he made in his first shop class. Watch closely... After Jill's line, "That's good for carrying around lopsided tools", she puts her hand on the toolbox and pushes it towards Tim. In the next shot, Jill still has her hand on the toolbox but it has completely flipped around.

    • In this episode, Tim's old shop teacher comes and visits him at his home. Tim grunts, and Art, his teacher, asks him what that noise was. He said that it was a grunt, and that he figured it out in college. However, in the episode "Ex Marks the Spot", Tim's old girlfriend said that he used to grunt when he went by hardware stores. This doesn't make sense because Tim went out with Stacy in high school.

    Allusions (1)

    • Jill: Mrs. Holloway. She introduced me to Shakespeare. I loved Macbeth. I used to walk around saying, "Out damned spot, out I say." Tim: Well, enough of your laundry stories. Contrary to what Tim thinks, this scene in Macbeth is not about laundry. It's actually about Lady Macbeth sleepwalking and trying to wash non-existent blood off her hands.
