  • show Description
  • Based on the Israeli version of "Prisoners of War." A U.S. soldier who was thought to have been killed in Iraq over 8 years ago who is now being questioned as to whether he is a member of a sleeper cell sent to cause a terrorist attack. Claire Danes stars in this Showtime pilot as a CIA agent with bipolar disorder who comes to suspect that an Afghanistan war hero who has returned home after years as a POW might be part of a terrorist plot. Expect a psychological thriller with a strong focus on character development.moreless

    • Carrie: Because Abu Nazir is playing the long game. This way no one expects a thing.
      Saul: Except you?
      Carrie: Except me.

    • Carrie: I-I'm just making sure we don't get hit again.
Saul: Well, I'm glad someone's looking out for the country, Carrie.
Carrie: I'm serious. I-I missed something once before, I won't... I can't let that happen again.
Saul: It was ten years ago. Everyone missed something that day.
      Carrie: Yeah, everyone's not me.

    • Carrie: (to Saul about Nick Brody) It's happening exactly what you said. He's out there playing the hero card.

    • Jessica: You punched a reporter.
      Brody: Oh, he'll live.
      Jessica: In front of Chris.
      Brody: He'll live, too.

    • Carrie: (about Lynn) If by hooker you, you mean someone who's out there risking herself, while we're sitting around a conference table.

    • Carrie: (following suspect) Guy hasn't broken the speed limit once.
Danny: Does that make him more, or less suspicious?
Carrie: It makes him boring as shit.

    • Brody: I'm through talking with Nazir, and you can tell him that. Tell him it's over.

    • Brody: I have this feeling things are going to get pretty wild soon. Your mom's going to need you. When I'm not around. Promise me you'll watch out for her.

    Trivia (12)

    • Goof: He sings the Marine Corps Hymn wrong in this episode. When he is kneeling over the grave, he says: "First to fight for right and country" and the correct line is: "First to fight for right and freedom".

    • Brody recites his prayer by mouth. However, a Muslim does not need to speak the verses if he is praying alone; reciting them at heart or soundlessly is enough.

    • Though the show is set in Washington, DC, when Saul picks up Mira at the airport the sign in the background shows it to be the Charlotte-Douglas International Airport in North Carolina.

    • Saul recites a Kadish for Afsal, which is the jewish prayer for the dead.

    • As Saul exits the room for his polygraph, he passes a clock on the wall that shows that the time is 19:20 (7:20 PM) in Langley. It also shows that the Zulu (UTC) time is 25:20--an invalid time, since there are only 24 hours in a day.┬áIt also shows a third time zone being 29:20, also an invalid time. Assuming that the 25:20 time is intended to be 01:20 (subtracting 24 hours from the 25:20), it would still be incorrect, since Zulu (UTC) time is at most five hours ahead of the time in Langley, VA, not six.

    • Tom Walker uses a self-storage unit to engage in clandestine activity.

    • Goof: The rank insignia on Brody's Blue Dress uniform are still those of a Sergeant instead of a Gunnery Sergeant.

    • Goof: At 23:09 you can see the shadow of the camera operator on the door.
