    • Robin: Wait, I can't do this to you. I want to go to Argentina, but you want to have kids. Ted: Oh, right, because there's no kids in Argentina. On Santa's map there's a big X over Argentina.

    • Robin: I'm a journalist. My career could take me anywhere, and I hope it does. Ted: I'm an architect. I could go anywhere, too. They have buildings in Argentina and Paris. And even Tokyo; I don't know if you ever saw Godzilla, but he wasn't knocking down a bunch of tents.

    • Lily: Oh... does it make you kind of sad that we don't share the same last name? Marshall: You know, in a totally evolved 21st century kind of way, a little. Lily: Oh... you know what we should do? We should come up with a whole new last name. Marshall: Oh, that's easy. Lily and Marshall Skywalker. Lily: Lily and Marshall Hasselhoff. Marshall: I got it! You ready? You ready? Lily: Yeah? Marshall: Lily and Marshall Awesome. Have you met the Awesomes? Marshall, Lily, their son Totally and their daughter Frickin? (Both giggle) Lily: I love you, Mr. Awesome. Marshall: I love you, Mrs. Awesome.

    • Ted: Alright, have fun in Scotland. See the Loch Ness monster, tell him Ted Mosby says, 'What's up?' Marshall: Nessie is a she, Ted, come on.

    • Barney: You'll be at home with the kid, while I am out awesome-ing. All over the place. (turns to Robin) And you gonna be fat.

    Trivia (4)

    • Robin doesn't like kids, and that even was the reason she and Ted broke up. Yet she walks off to dance with the little boy at the end of the episode.

    • When the proposal takes place, the bride-to-be has her left hand over her mouth the whole time, therefore the groom-to-be must have placed the ring on her right finger.

    • The proposal in the restaurant was authentic. Tim Russo asked one of the writer's assistants if he could visit and propose to Jana Rugan on the HIMYM set, who then asked Carter Bays and Craig Thomas. They accepted. To keep Jana unaware, the first few takes had a different person announcing it was his ring; after a code phrase, Tim stood up and announced it was his, and then proposed to Jana. Jana's acceptance had to be dubbed in post-production due to her being overcome with emotion at being asked.

    • In Single Stamina, Ted and Robin are shown dancing together, despite the fact that the scene takes place after this episode (as indicated by Marshall referring to Lily as his wife) and therefore are broken up. The scene from Single Stamina was written to be vague enough that they could either be together (as judged from the dancing) or broken up (as the point behind the episode is that couples don't stay out late, and Ted and Robin stayed out post-Marshall and Lily).

    Allusions (1)

    • Ted and Barney's end dialogue is reminiscent of the ending of nearly every Boston Legal episode. Both times two main characters are drinking whiskey while smoking cigars on a balcony summarizing the events past.
