    • Lucy: (after her dance fails to prove she is McGillicuddy) Well, I am a McGillicuddy. Mayor Ferguson: Aye, that ye are. There never was a McGillicuddy could dance worth a hoot!

    • Fred Dragon: Fee fie foe fuddy, I smell the blood of a McGillicuddy.

    • Lucy: Why does it always have to be a McGillicuddy the dragon eats? Scotty/Ricky: That's life, lassie, nature's way. Cats eat mice. Dogs eat bones. Cows eat grass and dragons eat McGillicuddys.

    Notes (6)

    • If you watch carfully you will see hands move, those are the hands of Wilbur Hatch who was the conductor for "I Love Lucy." You need to look at the wagon wheel to see them at the end of the first musical number.

    • Larry Orenstein (Mayor of Kildoonan) won his role when he ran through the songs with everyone. Desi Arnaz, thought that no one else would be able to perform the role. Orenstein worked with Eliot Daniel, Wilbur Hatch, and Marco Rizo for the music in this episode.

    • Songs: "'Tis Nay a Bra Bricht Nicht", A McGillicuddy is Here", "I'm in Love with a Dragon's Dinner", "Two Heads Are Nay Better Than One", and "Dragon Waltz".

    • An audience member filmed this episode with his/her home video camera and the footage is still in the family library collection. This episode was shot 1/6/56. This episode was not shot in color. The set was painted in bright colors like yellow and blue. CBS did this to save money. Filming the episode in color would have doubled production costs.

    • For the first time, Lucie Arnaz and Desi Arnaz, Jr. were allowed to be a part of the studio audience and see the episode being filmed.

    Trivia (2)

    • When doing the Sword Dance, you can not touch or hit any of the swords on the floor. In one scene a man and woman are doing it and the man hits the sword towards the end of the dance.

    • At the beginning of this episode, Lucy wants to see if she can locate some of her "Mother's" family, the MacGuillicuddy clan in Kildoonan, Scotland. Since MacGuillicuddy is Lucy's maiden name, and her Mother is Mrs. MacGuillicuddy, then she would be looking up her Father's side of the family, not her Mother's.
