    • Gaz: Oh No! Dark Forces! Go away, Dib.

    • Zim: (in robot) The coming invasion will not be stopped by your… BURRITOS!

    • Ms. Bitters: Now, does anyone have any questions? (Dib raises his hand) Ms. Bitters: Does anyone have any questions that don't have anything to do with lunatic ideas about Zim being an alien? (Dib lowers his hand)

    • Zim: I have a stomach!

    • Zim: I eat food, just like you!

    • (Gaz walks by Zim and takes a seat) Dib: Look at him Gaz! He doesn’t like the cafeteria food… Gaz: I don’t like the cafeteria food either. (Gaz makes her fingers look like antennae) I guess that makes me an alien to, huh, Dib? (Gaz grabs a juice box and drinks it)

    • Dib: What's the matter? Scared of beans, space boy? Zim: Nonsense! I love beans! I love them!

    • Ms. Bitters: Do you find something amusing, Zim? Zim: (giggling to himself) Yes, yes I do. (still laughing) Look at his space suit! (beats his arm on desk)

    Trivia (93)

    • Dib's undershirt has the same picture on it that Squee has in "Johnny the Homicidal Maniac".

    • Goof: When Zim is seen from outside his armor during the cafeteria fight, he has his contact lenses on. However, when Zim is seen inside of his armor, he doesn't have them on, despite the fact that he was wearing them.

    • Goof: When Zim returns home, the robot arms remove his wig and contact lenses. However, when he walks over to Gir, he's still wearing his wig and contact lenses.

    • On the way to the site where Zim would create his base, a radio station called "WTFU" appears. This is a combination of "W.T.F." and "F.U."

    • Richard Horvitz adlibbed the line "Invader's blood marches through my veins like giant radioactive rubber pants!" The original line in the script was "radioactive ants."

    • How would Gir know what a mongoose is, and Zim know what a dog is, if they don't have them on their home planet?

    • Why would Gir's costume come out differently than the computer screen showed? After all, Zim's costume came out identical to the one on the computer.

    • Watch carefully: The two first disguises Zim doesn't pick (contact lenses and wig are the third one) have the appearance of, respectively, Jhonen Vasquez-the shows' creator, and Steve Ressel-the director.

    Allusions (21)

    • A Clockwork Orange The scene where Zim has the Robo-parents tied-down with their eyes propped open so they can watch the televisions is a parody of A Clockwork Orange.

    • Gay Pride? Keef wears a rainbow on his shirt and cares very deeply for Zim. Also, GIR says "That boy loves you so much!"

    • Innerspace/Fantastic Voyage The episode "NanoZIM" has tiny ships navigating through the innards of people. This references both the 1987 film Innerspace and the 1966 Isaac Asimov book Fantastic Voyage.

    • Unexplained Mysteries The show Mysterious Mysteries, is a parody of Unexplained Mysteries, which is a real show that deals with the unknown and paranormal.

    • War of The Worlds When Zim watches the video in the beginning, the issue with germs being able to kill off and stop an alien invasion is a reference to the book War of The Worlds, where the aliens are killed by simple bacteria.

    • At the end of the episode, Dib enters a boiler room while trying to run away from Zim. It is there where Zim finds him and steals one of his organs. This event is very similar to events in the 1984 movie The Nightmare On Elm Street. In the movie, while a teenager was dreaming, Freddy Krueger would usually kill them in a boiler room.

    • Ms. Bitters: If you leave school grounds, it will explode! In The Running Man (1987), Arnold Schwarzenegger and other inmates are kept in a prison with an electronic frontier, in which a collar around their necks will explode if they attempt to leave.

    • Count Cocoa Fang is a reference to cereal mascot Count Chocula.
