  • Episode Description
  • Hypnotia uses her powers on the crew of a Russian nuclear submarine, the Prometheus, and helps it sink with all hands onboard. At the same time, Whirlwind and Dreadknight attack Stark Enterprises – secretly stealing a small microchip. After one year passes, the Prometheus is found near Scotland and the entire crew has been transformed into radioactive zombies loyal to the Mandarin. When these zombies reach dry land, Iron Man must lead Force Works against them and unravel the Mandarin's plot. If they fail, there will be no one left to stop the Mandarin and his zombie forces.moreless

  • Tried to do too much and falling way short of the goal.

    By MajLorne, Jul 17, 2008

  • This is perhaps the worst pilot of any superhero cartoon created. Where-as Spiderman: The Animated Series and X-Men (Both FOX Kids shows) were interesting and well-developed, Iron Man lacks character devolopment and has a less-than-mediocre story-line.

  • Trivia & Quotes
  • Quotes (1)

    • Iron Man: Asphalt sure makes great giftwrapping. (traps Titanium Man) Better mark this package "Do not open until christmas-in the year 3000!"

    Notes (4)

    • An adaptation of the episode was published in the comic book Marvel Action Hour: Iron Man #1.

    • First appearence of the I.R.V.I.N.G. (Inflight Refit Vehicle with Interactive Neuronemetic Gear) drone, which helps Iron Man switch suits during missions.

    • Arguably one of the worse plots of the series, as The Mandarin hatches a year-long plot to create his own army of Zombies...when he has perfectly competent super-powered hench-men at his side every day.

    • Mandarin's minions in this series are Blizzard, Dreadknight, Grey Gargoyle, Whirlwind, Blacklash, and Hypnotia.

    Trivia (5)

    • If Century could restore the mutated sailors with his axe, why didn't he just do so at the start of the battle?

    • The radioactive zombie are said to be highly contagious, but Forceworks battle them at close range with no ill effects whatsoever.

    • Dreadknight's mouth moves in this episode, despite the fact that it's supposed to be a mask.

    • If Iron-Man and War-Machine needed under-water suits to breathe underwater, how is it that they can go up into space, which has no oxygen or atmosphere, without any special suit or form of protection at all?

    • When Tony Stark puts on his Iron-Man suit the second time, he is clearly wearing a solid blue suit and is in the middle of a carpetted room. However, as it shows him putting on the suit the second time, it just replays the first scene of him putting on his suit in which he was wearing a Khaki blazer and is in the middle of a machine-room. Just another example of the creators using the same scene more than once.
