  • Episode Description
  • Joan learns from God that she's holding a garage sale on Saturday, which doesn't leave her much time to sort through her family's unwanted belongings. Among the items she unearths are paintings created by Helen during a dark period in her life. Elsewhere, Will goes to bat for a rape victim even though the district attorney feels the case isn't strong enough. Also, Joan catches the interest of a class charmer and a newspaper job falls right into Kevin's lap.moreless

Voice over PA: Ms. Lischak, this is Mr. Price, sorry to interrupt, I need Joan Girardi to come to room 171.
Ms. Lischak: You shall have Ms. Girardi posthaste. Joan.
Adam: I'll tell you later what's fun about nucleic acids...

    • Clay: (holding a CD) Yo, Adam Rove. Checked out your stuff, dig it. I wanna punch it in on my show.
Adam: (snatching the CD) Where'd you get this?
Clay: I lifted it out of your backpack during the STD film in health class. You were riveted.

    • Rebecca: (to Kevin) Andy is a pissy queen.

    • Dauglian: (to Will) Chief, I'm headed out to the scene of a jumper. Thirtieth floor onto concrete... it worked.

    • Will: (to Joan) Hon, you didn't sell my badge, did you? (Noticing the cold silence between Helen and Joan) Are we going to hang meat in here later?

    Trivia (1)

    • The whole falsified-report thing doesn't make sense - a report has already been filed, which is why the suspect was arrested and then released on bail. Both the defense lawyer and Fellowes should know about the .03 alcohol on the original report - it's pretty unlikely both of them would overlook it.

    Allusions (2)

    • Helen: I get to know who're you're talking to on the internet. Dr. Phil is very clear on this point.
Helen is referring to The Dr. Phil Show, at the time a very popular "advice" television talk show.

    • Reporter: ...this is High Noon and you are Gary Cooper.
High Noon, a movie starring Gary Cooper, is a classic western in which the town marshal is forced to face a group of criminals all by himself when everyone else refuses to help.
