    • Joan: Dad! Kevin's making penis jokes and he doesn't want to play golf with you.

    • Adam: You know, seeing God... Joan: Shh! Adam nobody knows that part except for you. Everybody still thinks that I was just talking to 'people', 'kay? So let's drop the G-word. Adam: It's documented, look. Visions, voices, bilocation... Joan: Adam, Adam, Adam, seeing him, her, it, is a sure sign of crazy, it's like, the uber-sign.

    • Joan: I just want to be a normal couple again. Do you remember normal? Adam: Not really.

    • Cute Boy God: Crazy is destructive. It tears down. I'm all about building up. Joan: Then I suggest you take up carpentry.

    • Will: What's wrong? Helen: Nothing! I'm seeing a nun and a priest!

    • Will: Oh, Tiger Woods, he's dorky. Tiger Woods is arguably the best golfer of the 21st century.

    • Episode Title: Only Connect The episode title refers to a quote from E.M. Forster's book Howard's End: "Only connect the prose and the passion, and both will be exalted, and human love will be seen at its height. Live in fragments no longer. Only connect, and the beast and the monk, robbed of the isolation that is life to either, will die." This probably doesn't make sense when you haven't read the paragraph that precedes it, which explains that the "beast and monk" above refer to fragmented parts of self. Until these fragments are joined by what Forster calls the "rainbow bridge" between prose and passion, they never connect to form a whole person. So, basically, the reference is about reconciling all the parts of oneself and living a full, aware, loving life. At least, that's my understanding.
