    • Dan: Happy anniversary. They said it wouldn't last. Katie: Here's to getting it wrong.

    • Nicole: Do you regret it? Having a kid. Dan: I'd do anything right now to get back to him.

    • Katie: So, were you high when you ran the red light? Is that why you took off? Dan: It's not drugs, Katie. If I told you the truth, that I go on these...these trips. Katie: Through time. Go ahead. You can say it out loud. Dan: See? That's exacltly what I mean. I'd rather people think I'm a crack addict than think I'm crazy. Katie: Where'd you trip to this time, Dan? Dan: You'd never believe me. Katie: Try me. Dan: Remember that guy I told you about? His name is Neal Gaines. Now I think I am tracking his life. And I think I just helped him start a family. Katie: Well, that's great. How about sticking around here and saving this one?

    • Dan: I saw Livia. On this...on this last trip or whatever. Jack: Okay. Dan: I wanted to tell her not to get on that plane, but I didn't. I said something about her life that hadn't happened yet. I spooked her. I might've blown my chance of her liking me before we even met.

    • Dan: I'll always come home.

    • Dan: It's the age of the blog, Hugh. You get the story first and get it right second.

    • Jack: Who is this? Dan: What do you mean who is this? Jack: Well, you're not my brother. Dan: Course I am! Jack: Ah no you're not because I'm looking at him right now.

    • Dan:(When he comes back after saving Neal's son) I'm not the man you married, and I'm sorry about that.

    Trivia (13)

    • The Vassar family home is the same house that Dan Gordon occupied in The WB series, Charmed. It was right next door to the Halliwell Manor (on the left side as seen from the street). Charmed was also set in San Francisco.

    • Goof: Several shots from 1987 show residential permit parking signs. But the residential permit parking program did not begin in San Francisco until 1988.

    • Goof: In the scene when he is in Golden Gate Park they show the Golden Gate Bridge in the back ground. This is fake. You can not see the Golden Gate Bridge from Golden Gate Park.

    • Goof: In 1987 Dan saves Neal from being hit by a streetcar. The streetcar is the F Line on Market street. That did not exist then. The F-Line started service in 1995.

    • Goof: The newspaper which has the headline regarding the Superbowl has Sunday's date. The Superbowl report would be in Monday's paper!

    • Goof: When Dan Vassar travels back to the 1980s for the first time in this episode, the cars in the background are twenty first century cars.

    • Goof: The green vegetables change position in Katie's shopping basket as she talks to Dan on her phone.

    • Goof: When Dan leaps to 1994 its announced as the year of the rabbit, but in the Chinese Zodiac 1994 is the year of the dog.

    Allusions (11)

    • Dan: What's going on? Bartender: We won, you idiot! Owens made an amazing catch! This is a reference to Terrell Owens' game winning touchdown in the 1998 NFC Wild Card game against the Green Bay Packers.

    • When Dan steps out of the airplane restroom he bumps into a waitress who has a "Ted" drink in her hand. The can bears the design used for "Tab", a diet cola in the 70's.

    • The title is based on Game Three of the 1989 World Series between the San Francisco Giants and the Oakland Athletics. The 6.9 earthquake struck at 5:04pm just minutes after the pre-game festivities got underway.

    • The priest muttering "Oh boy" upon seeing Dan is an allusion to the series Quantum Leap, which had a similar premise to Journeyman. In Quantum Leap, the main character would regularly use "Oh boy" as a "catchphrase" shortly after arriving in a new time and finding himself in unusual situations.

    • Jeff: First of all, it's Special Ops. So it's not like there's a Facebook. This is a reference to Facebook, the popular online social network.

    • D. B. Cooper On the eve of Thanksgiving in 1971, D. B. Cooper hijacked a plane and parachuted into the night with a ransom payment of $200,000. To this day, this remains the United States's only unsolved skyjacking.

    • The title is likely an allusion to the Bible parable "Am I my brother's keeper?"

    • Jack: Maybe you could say you, you travel all the time and leave the Slautherhouse-Five stuff out.

Slautherhouse-Five is a satircal novel by Kurt Vonnegut about a man whose consciousness randomly travels back and forth through periods of his life.
