  • Episode Description
  • Maya's fantasy piece about a dinner with Woody Allen brings notice from a lot of people--including Woody Allen himself, supposedly. The man who shows up at Maya's office the next day is not Woody Allen, but he presents himself as such, and actually seems to believe he is. Maya finds herself playing along with the charade until their relationship and her life turn into her favorite movie, Annie Hall. Meanwhile, a mix-up over eyedrops causes Jack to temporarily lose his sight.moreless

  • Trivia & Quotes
  • Quotes (1)

    • Woody Allen:(On the phone) I just called to tell you I think you're a terrific writer. (Maya drops the phone in shock as she sees Preston walk up behind her) ..Well, you know....not the greatest conversationalist.

    Notes (3)

    • This episode was the "NBC Spotlight Show of the Week" the week it originally aired.

    • This episode features a tag scene played over the end credits, the only episode prior to Season Three to do so.

    • The voice on the phone at the end is the real Woody Allen, making his first sitcom appearance in any form. He recorded his lines in New York and then sent them to the Just Shoot Me team.

    Allusions (1)

    • The episode is a parody of Woody Allen movies, Annie Hall in particular. Even the opening credits were done in Woody Allen film style. This and "A&E Biography: Nina Van Horn" are the only episodes which don't feature shots of Blush's cover story teasers to preface scenes.
