  • Episode Description
  • Cotton comes over for Thanksgiving even though it is Hank's turn to be with his mom. Cotton constantly insults Tillie, and Hank doesn't stand up for her, to her dissatisfaction. Later, the family goes to a mall, where Hank, his neighbors, and his father attend a lawn mower focus group. The company announces that it is retiring its old model and introducing a new version. Hank is the only one on the group who defends the old mower, and winds up having to defend his mother too. Peggy plans on a busy shopping day, but after her shoe breaks she falls asleep waiting for it to be repaired. Luanne and Bobby go skating so Luanne can meet guys, but she is struggling to get over Buckley.moreless

  • Quotes (5)

    • Cotton: I like a woman with a big butt, but Tilly was taking advantage of the situation!

    • Peggy: Can you fix the sole on this women's loafer? Repair man: This is a MAN'S loafer! Peggy: It's a UNI-loafer.

    • Bill: (Toasting) To the stuffing; it might taste like garbage, but it fills us up.

    • Bobby: Buckley's not getting any deader, Luanne.

    • Cotton: Tilly, did you make this stuffing? CAUSE IT TASTES LIKE GARBAGE!

    Notes (1)

    • The song Kahn sings is "Rock The Casbah" by The Clash

    Trivia (7)

    • Tagline: "Pump jockey!" -Cotton "I'm not a-" -Hank  "Works for tips!" - Cotton

    • Lane Pratley had a dealership for Chevrolets in the previous episode, however in this one he doesn't mention he sells Chevrolets.

    • Lane Pratley has a different look here than in the previous episode. He now has brown hair, instead of red, and is also slimmer. This is his look for the rest of the series.

    • When Peggy first sits down in the chair, she sits in the first one (closest to the counter), but in all other scenes she is in the last seat (closest to the door).

    • The shoe store owner left Peggy asleep after the store was closed. It is odd that he didn't wake her up.

    Allusions (4)

    • Celine Dion: She is a famous singer, who often gets made fun of for the types of songs she makes.

    • In the mall, there is a restaurant in the food court that is (or similar to) "Hot Dog on a Stick," a well-known fast food stand in malls. Cotton even alludes to the fact that they make fresh lemonade from scratch.

    • Kahn: I am everywhere you want to be, Hank Hill. The ad slogan for Visa is "It's everywhere you want to be."

    • This episode is a parody of the classic film 12 Angry Men, with its conflict taking place entirely in the meeting room. This is also seen in Hank persuading the jury one by one, the personal anguish of one group member (in this case, the former minister), and the climatic showdown between Hank and his stubborn father.
