    • (Mike is alone inside KITT) Mike: This is weird. KITT: What is weird? Mike: I don't know. Kinda like having a creepy guy in the back seat. KITT: You think I am a... creepy guy? Mike: Forget it.

    • KITT: One of my primary directives is the preservation of human life. Sarah: But your primary directive is the preservation of our lives, right? KITT: That is the ideal outcome.

    • KITT: Excuse me? Sarah: You dropped a chip. Mike: Oh, come on, really? KITT: You would not be pleased if I dropped food on you. Sarah: Do unto others. KITT: From the book of Matthew, Chapter 7, Verse 12. Mike: Oh, this is intolerable.

    • KITT: By using GPS, radar and real-time satellite imagery, I have all the data necessary to safely navigate these roads. Sarah: Great, did my dad get a chance to, um, test this? KITT: Not extensively, no.

    • KITT: Sarah, your fear is irrational and misplaced. Sarah: Welcome to the world of being human.

    • Sarah: Mike, don't antagonize the car. KITT, just ignore him, you're doing great. KITT: Yes, I know.

    • Charles: I'm resurrecting the Foundation, Michael. We will be working in cooperation with the FBI. Mike: Why are you telling me? Carrie: We want you to drive it. Mike: This is insane. Charles: No, the world is insane. This is the definition of sanity... the chance to make a difference.

    • KITT: That seemed quite irrational. Mike: You clearly don't know much about women, do you? KITT: On the contrary, my database is quite extensive... Mike: KITT, shut up!

    Allusions (11)

    • Sarah Graiman refers to a "Bucket list" of things to do before she dies. This is an Allusion to the Morgan Freeman/Jack Nicholson movie The Bucket List where the two actors are dying and make a list of things to do.

    • Mike and Zoe have undercover names of Devon and Bonnie. This is a nod to the original "Knight Rider" series. Devon Miles was the director of FLAG and Bonnie Barstow was KITT's mechanic.

    • The two support-robots in the lab are named "Lisa" and "Katie". Both names are related to information-technolgy: Lisa was the name of an 6502-assembler for the Apple II as well as the name of the precursor to the Apple Macintosh. Katie is the name of the girlfriend of the KDE-dragon Konqi.

    • James Bond: K.I.T.T.'s submersible mode in the ocean and his driving up onto the beach past a startled kid building a sand castle is reminiscent of the 1976 Lotus Esprit S1 from the 1977 James Bond movie "The Spy Who Loved Me" which changed into a submarine, and then changed back into a car, drove out of the ocean, and up onto the beach past startled onlookers.

    • KITT: Do or do not. There is no try. This is a reference to Yoda in George Lucas's movie, Star Wars: Episode V - The Empire Strikes Back (1980). During his Jedi training, Luke Skywalker replies to Yoda's instructions with "I'll give it a try." Yoda replies, "No. Try not. Do or do not. There is no try."

    • K.A.R.R.: In the original "Knight Rider" series the Knight Automated Roving Robot was the antagonist-vehicle in two episodes. KARR's prime-directive was self-preservation, contrary to KITT's directive of protecting human life.

    • Billy's costume and the descriptions of his character as a "bisexual or omnisexual time traveler" refers to Captain Jack Harkness from the BBC show "Doctor Who" and spin-off series "Torchwood". Zoe's costume and the statement of her character, "Save the Cheerleader, save the world" refers to Claire Bennett from the NBC show "Heroes".

    • Mike: KITT, protocol Nancy Bravo Charlie Four. NBC is the name of the network that produces Knight Rider. The four could be a reference to WNBC Channel Four, NBC's flagship station.
