  • Goof: Although KITT is heard to say "Occupant restraint system active" as he starts to move, interior shots never show anyone wearing seatbelts.

  • When the terrorists are searching Dr. Graiman's lab, they find a steering wheel, which belonged to the original KITT.

  • Trivia: The casino where Sarah finds Mike, the Montecito, is the setting for NBC's Las Vegas (2003–2008).

  • Trivia: On-screen visuals reveal that Mike weighs 185 lbs, is 6' 3" and was born 10 June 1983.

  • Trivia: Mike comments, "Why do you gotta hate on Nebraska?". Justin Bruening is from Nebraska.

  • Nitpick: After KITT picks Sarah up to escape, there are several exterior close-ups of the driver's side, the window is down. Yet wide shots show it up.

  • Nitpick: KITT switches his number plates to Idaho, which uses an alphanumeric code at the front of the plate to signify what county the car is registered to. When there is more than one county that starts with the same letter, a number goes with it. There are no counties at all in Idaho that begin with "U".

  • Goof: After the Hunt gets his thumb amputated, there is no blood on his hand or in the container his thumb is in.

  • Sarah Graiman refers to a "Bucket list" of things to do before she dies. This is an Allusion to the Morgan Freeman/Jack Nicholson movie The Bucket List where the two actors are dying and make a list of things to do.

  • Mike and Zoe have undercover names of Devon and Bonnie. This is a nod to the original "Knight Rider" series. Devon Miles was the director of FLAG and Bonnie Barstow was KITT's mechanic.

  • The two support-robots in the lab are named "Lisa" and "Katie". Both names are related to information-technolgy: Lisa was the name of an 6502-assembler for the Apple II as well as the name of the precursor to the Apple Macintosh. Katie is the name of the girlfriend of the KDE-dragon Konqi.

  • James Bond: K.I.T.T.'s submersible mode in the ocean and his driving up onto the beach past a startled kid building a sand castle is reminiscent of the 1976 Lotus Esprit S1 from the 1977 James Bond movie "The Spy Who Loved Me" which changed into a submarine, and then changed back into a car, drove out of the ocean, and up onto the beach past startled onlookers.

  • KITT: Do or do not. There is no try. This is a reference to Yoda in George Lucas's movie, Star Wars: Episode V - The Empire Strikes Back (1980). During his Jedi training, Luke Skywalker replies to Yoda's instructions with "I'll give it a try." Yoda replies, "No. Try not. Do or do not. There is no try."

  • K.A.R.R.: In the original "Knight Rider" series the Knight Automated Roving Robot was the antagonist-vehicle in two episodes. KARR's prime-directive was self-preservation, contrary to KITT's directive of protecting human life.

  • Billy's costume and the descriptions of his character as a "bisexual or omnisexual time traveler" refers to Captain Jack Harkness from the BBC show "Doctor Who" and spin-off series "Torchwood". Zoe's costume and the statement of her character, "Save the Cheerleader, save the world" refers to Claire Bennett from the NBC show "Heroes".

  • Mike: KITT, protocol Nancy Bravo Charlie Four. NBC is the name of the network that produces Knight Rider. The four could be a reference to WNBC Channel Four, NBC's flagship station.
