  • Episode Description
  • An important Center satellite, Comm Sat Alpha crashes near a small town in Kentucky by the name of Dingman's Hollow. Michael and Nikita are then sent on a mission to retrieve it; the first mission with Birkoff's replacement, Corman. They must retrieve the data it carries before it falls into the wrong hands. When Michael and Nikita get to Dingman's Hollow, they discover that the satellite is missing from its crash location. Soon enough, Nikita discovers that strange things are afoot in the town of Dingman's Hollow. It turns out that the entire town is a "Sleeper Base" for the Black Storm terrorist group, making Michael and Nikita's mission that much more difficult. Meanwhile, Naomi, the girlfriend of Birkoff's brother Jason Crawford has talked him into going on vacation with her to Aruba. But in a world where there are no coincidences, can Section One be far behind?moreless

  • Trivia & Quotes
  • Quotes (3)

    • Tiny: Something's wrong. He done something to it. Some kind of lock code. Selma: (putting her gun to Nikita's head) You got a little less than five seconds to give us that unlock code before I repaint this shed in white girl!

    • Corman: Everything I could find suggested that the satellite was crashed on purpose. Madeline: Do you know by whom? Corman: I was working on that when you called me. But everything that I could see leads back to Oversight or Center. Operations: Can you think of a reason why Oversight would intentionally crash a satellite containing valuable data right into the heart of a terrorist base? Corman: I don't know. Not unless... Madeline: Go on. Corman: Well, if the data was useless. Providing the enemy with useless intel would distract them for years. Madeline: You're very astute. Corman: Thank you. But Michael and Nikita... were sent in to make it look convincing. To make every effort to retrieve the data. But Michael won't fail. He's the best. Madeline: You've put the pieces together quite well. Corman: And if Michael dies trying... it'll make it look all the more convincing. Operations: Very good Mr. Corman. Madeline: (to operatives) Take him to containment.

    • Nikita: It's beautiful here. Michael: You're beautiful. Nikita: I used to dream that there were places like this somewhere. Safe, warm. Do you ever think of anything like that? Michael: Yes. Nikita: You never talk about it. Michael: Inside, nobody can change it. It will always be what I need it to be. Nikita: Is it anything like this? Michael: A little, maybe... you're there.

    Notes (2)

    • The main plot of this episode bears a strong resemblence to the Soldier of Fortune: Special Ops Force episode "Welcome to Bent Copper", which aired a little over a year before this episode did.

    • Music Used In This Episode:
"Crazy" - Patsy Cline (in the teaser, and as Michael and Nikita leave)
"I Ain't Been Right Since You Went Wrong" - Ernest Tubb (when Michael and Nikita go to the deserted diner)
"Old Fashion Love" - Ernest Tubb (when Nikita is in Maggie's deserted diner)
"No Need To Cry" - Neko Case and Her Boyfriends (when Nikita and Michael first go into Maggie's)
"Thrice All American" - Neko Case and Her Boyfriends (in Maggie's the morning after Nikita first goes wandering)
"Guided Wire" - Neko Case and Her Boyfriends (in Maggie's after the minister dies)

    Trivia (7)

    • The enemy faced by Section in this episode is called Black Storm, out of Chechnya.

    • Birkoff's twin Jason Crawford is brought into Section in this episode. It's also revealed that his girlfriend Naomi is a Section operative.

    • Dingman's Hollow, after Black Storm is cleared out, is now Section Six.

    • When Michael is tripping up the mailman, he speaks in Russian. He says spaseeba, which means "thank you", and the mailman replies puhzhalista, which means "you're welcome" (spelled phonetically).

    • Nitpick: Nikita doesn't notice the tattoo on the minister until the chains are tightened, but it's just an inch away from where the chains wrapped around his wrists. Wouldn't they have seen the tattoo when they were putting him in chains?
