  • this is exactly why I don't watch Criminal Intent. The Det. Robert Goren talks way too slow, too many pauses. The episode was lame and very boring. About a writer killing another writer and getting no where for 55 mins of the episode

    • Alex Eames: I found Gareth Sage stories all over a message board devoted to bad bosses. Danny Ross: You just happened to be looking there?

    Trivia (1)

    • The relationship of Lionel Shill and his protégé, TJ Hawkins seems to be ripped from the headlines from the case of Norman Mailer and Jack Abbott.  While in prison for manslaughter, Abbott wrote two-time Pulitzer Prize winner Mailer, who took an interest in him.  Their correspondence led to Abbott's book on prison life, In the Belly of the Beast.  Mailer supported Abbott's request for parole in 1981.  However, six weeks after his parole, just as Abbott's book was gaining rave reviews, Abbott got into an argument with a waiter, and stabbed him to death.  He was convicted again on manslaughter, and died in prison in 2002.

    Allusions (2)

    • This story appears to be ripped from the headlines concerning James Frey's A Million Little Pieces, a popular memoir that, like Hawkins', was not factual.

    • Alex Eames: She might not be single. Scarface DVD, men's hoodies ...
Scarface is a 1983 Brian De Palma movie starring Al Pacino as Cuban gangster Tony Montana.
