  • Episode Description
  • When Paige Bartlett is found near death in her apartment, Greevey and Logan follow the trail to her boyfriend, only to learn that she and Feinstein had broken up that evening. After Paige dies, they dig further into her past and find another former boyfriend, Ned Loomis, and learn that Ned has a penchant for violence when another former victim of his comes forward. Stone's case seems to be going nowhere, though, because he can't use the defendent's former crimes against him in court.moreless

  • Quotes (5)

    • Polly Norris (about her privileged upbringing): It's a good life, but it can be a straitjacket. Max Greevey: With a mink lining. Polly Norris: If you've only worn mink, you want to know what denim feels like.

    • Doctor: With her hair pulled back like that, she's not a bad-looking lady. Mike Logan: Doc, the girl's got a crushed larynx. Can we get on with it?

    • Max Greevey: How many times would you go out with her before you went to bed with her? Mike Logan: (thinks about it) Once. (pause) Hey, what do you want, a bedtime story? I'd save it for the honeymoon?

    • Mike Logan: Are we 'your kind of people'? Manager: Well, you make it in the looks department, but the wardrobe needs a lot of help.

    • Paul Robinette: At least we gave them justice. Ben Stone: Justice doesn't give you grandchildren.

    Notes (1)

    • International Episode Titles: Germany: Aus gutem Hause (Of Good Family) Czech Republic: Polib ji a nech ji umřít (Kiss Her and Let Her Die)

    Trivia (2)

    • This is the first of seven appearances by Dennis Boutsikaris as a defense attorney using three different character names, the first two as Richard Berkley, one as Al Archer and the last four as Neil Pressman.

    • Goof: When Elise Brody first lowers the cowl of her turtleneck and the scar is seen from a distance, the shape is indistinctive and quite large, with a great deal of scar tissue surrounding it. When the camera focuses directly on the scar in a close-up, it is a very neat and straight across line.

    Allusions (2)

    • There is a line from an old nursery rhyme that goes, "Georgie Porgie pudding and pie, kissed the girls and made them cry." The episode title gives the nursery rhyme a darker twist.

    • This episode appears to be ripped from the headlines of the Robert Chambers case. In 1986, then-19-year-old Robert Chambers (who became known as the 'Preppie Killer') murdered 18-year-old Jennifer Levin, claiming that she died during 'rough sex'. Chambers eventually pled guilty to manslaughter, and served 15 years before being released in February 2003. In 2008, Chambers was sentenced to 19 years on drug charges.
