  • The voice of His Shadow (by Walter Borden) is a narrator for the opening of the episode, telling the story of what happened in the previous TV movies and also revealing that his essence lives in the character of Kai.

  • Eva Habermann makes her final appearance as Zev Bellringer. The could not commit to a second season. She agreed to do the first two episodes as a favor to the series to explain the change of actresses (see the upcoming episode).

  • During the original showing of this movie, Kai's eyes turned black. Showtime later choose to edit the screen to keep his eyes normal.

  • When Dr. Kazzan shoots the old woman out of the air hatch, he does so by pressing a remote control. This is in fact a Nintendo 64 Console Remote Control.

  • The character of E.J. Moss (played by Stephen McHattie), although he died in this episode, will be seen again in episodes of season 5.

  • This is the first time we don't see Mantrid's Arm Drones.

  • Goofs: Crew or equipment visible: The cameraman is reflected in the Specialty Show executioner's sunglasses.

  • The scene where the mercanarys are watching the hologram of Stan tied up and they cut out the nipples of his costume is a referance to A Clockwork Orange. This is probably due to the fact that Malcolm Mcdowell, star of A Clockwork Orange guest stars in this episode.

  • Xenia Seeberg is introduced as Xev the permanent replacement for Zev.

  • Journey to the Far Side of the Sun
    The Lexx crew discover a planet (Earth?) on the same orbit as water/fire, but at the exact opposite side of the central star (thus invisible until they left water/fire).
    This idea is explored in the '69 classic movie "Journey to the Far Side of the Sun" (Doppelganger), where a planet is found on the same orbit as earth at a similarly antidiametric location.

  • The title "Xevivor" is a play on "Survivor."

  • The title "A Midsummer's Nightmare" is a play on "A Midsummer's Night Dream."

  • At the end, the president says "Goodnight Vietnam." This is a reference to "Goodmorning Vietnam" with Robin Williams.
