  • Trivia & Quotes
  • Quotes (2)

    • Caroline: I'm going away for a little while. Albert: Where? Caroline: To Nellie's. Carrie: Why? Caroline: A little adventure, you might say. Albert: Then Pa's going with you? Caroline: No, he's not. Now, while I'm away, I want the both of you to be yourselves and have a good time. Carrie: Do I have to do the cooking? Caroline: Oh no, your Pa can do that. Albert: What about taking care of Grace? Caroline: Oh, your Pa can tend to that. (after kissing the kids good-bye) Remember, have a good time!

    • Laura: (overvoice) Ma won her fight, and the petition was on its way to the legislators. Ma says that one day, women may even earn the right to vote. Maybe......but I doubt it.

    Notes (3)

    • Some viewers may wonder why baby Grace so fiercely refused to eat food from Pa. Well, apparently, Michael Landon gave Wendi and Brenda Turnbaugh (Grace) some very spicy food one time, to get them to act the way they did in these scenes, and from then on, the girls wouldn't eat anything he gave them.

    • As we hear baby Grace talking (when she is not crying), she was credited as a co-star.

    • Richard Bull and Katherine MacGregor are credited as guest stars, since the story line directly involves their characters.

    Trivia (6)

    • In the scene where all the men have gathered in the church, you see Mr. Foster holding his twin girls, Apparently, there is a stain on one of the dresses, so someone tells Mr. Foster that hot water will take the stain right out. Actually, though, cold water takes the stains out, but hot water only sets them in.

    • In the scene where Charles is trying desperately to feed a crying Grace, listen closely for when he says "Come on, please eat. Daddy made it. Pa made it." It is very surprising that this made the final cut. The word "Daddy" was NEVER used on the show; it was always Pa, Papa, or Father. Calling your father "Dad" or "Daddy" was not at all a common practice in that time period.

    • When Laura wanted Charles and Caroline to meet at the church to try to work out their dispute, she went to her parents house. She went into the barn while Charles was milking the cow. Charles said "Good Morning" to Laura. Laura asked Charles to meet Caroline at the church at 2:00. Charles immediately quit in the middle of milking because he wanted to get cleaned up. If Charles was meeting Caroline at 2:00, why did he have to be in a big rush to get cleaned up if it was still morning?

    • The ever elusive Mrs. Alden is mentioned in this episode. When the men are gathering outside Nellie's Restaurant, The Reverend walks up and someone says, "You too?" and he said that she had gone to visit someone.

    • Nitpick: Willie Oleson... where the heck does he put it all?
