    • Doc Baker told Sylvia's father that she was "pregnant", but that was a taboo word that was very rarely spoken until after World War II.

    • It is amazing how often they showed the telephone being used. Realistically, farm communities at that time had no telephone service whatsoever. Even though the telephone was invented by Alexander Graham Bell in 1876, it was not legally recognized until the 1890s.
