  • Trivia & Quotes
  • Quotes (6)

    • (after Sayid is healed) Kate: How is that even possible? I mean, one minute he's gone and now he's fine? Sawyer: Of course he's fine. Kate: What does that mean? Sawyer: He's an Iraqi torturer who shoots kids. He definitely deserves another go-around.

    • Sawyer: It's not your fault she's dead. It's mine. She was sittin' right there, right where you are now, tryin' to leave this place. And I convinced her to stay. I made her stay on this island 'cause I didn't want to be alone.

    • Kate: I'm sorry. I never should have followed you. Sawyer: Which time?

    • Kate: A couple days ago, you asked me why I came back to the island. I need to find Claire. I thought ... maybe if I could catch up to you, you could help me, and then maybe if we could find her and bring her back to Aaron, then maybe all of this wouldn't be for nothing.

    • Lennon: Please. You don't have to do this. We won't hurt your friend... Sawyer: He ain't my friend. Do what you want with him. And anybody else. But me? I'm walkin' outta here. Kate: James... Sawyer: I'm gone! You understand? Dogen: Please... you have to stay. Sawyer: No. I don't. (Sawyer removes the barricade and steps through the door, Kate stares at him) Sawyer: Don't come after me.

    Notes (8)

    • The shot of Claire holding the gun was the first new footage of Season 6 to be released (eleven days before "LA X, Parts 1 & 2" premiered). It was shown briefly in a promo that was combined with footage from previous seasons.

    Trivia (14)

    • The numbers in the license plate (4DQ5554) of the taxi, besides beginning and ending in 4, add up to 23. 4 and 23 are two of the Numbers.

    • During the scene where Jack was inspecting Sayid's gunshot wound, The wound was on the left side of Sayid. During the scene where he was shot in "The Incident, Part 1", he was shot on the right side of his stomach.

    • This episode marks the fourth occasion in the entire series where Sawyer is seen crying.

    • When Hurley asks Sayid if he was a zombie, this is an-inside reference to the running joke on the Official Lost Podcast that (the non-existent) Season 7 will be called "The Zombie Season."

    • The date on the sonogram October 22, 2004 is two days before Ethan Goodspeed, aka Ethan Rom, of the original timeline dies being shot to death by Charlie Pace on October 24, 2004 for trying to recapture a still pregnant Claire.

    Allusions (5)

    • Star Trek: Deep Space Nine: Dogen has a baseball placed on his desk. In the TV series DS9, Benjamin Sisko, the commander of the station, used to have a baseball prominently placed on his desk throughout the entire run of the show. In the pilot episode, he used the baseball as a metaphor to explain the nature of linear time to the inhabitants of the wormhole, who experienced time all at once.

    • Star Wars Episode V: The Empire Strikes Back: After being tortured, Sayid says, "They didn't ask me any questions." This is similar to the line spoken by Han Solo after being tortured.

    • Sabrina, the Teenage Witch: Kate uses the alias "Joan Hart" at Angel of Mercy Hospital. This name resembles that of Melissa Joan Hart, the star of this series. Incidentally, Beth Broderick, who plays Kate's mother was Joan Hart's co-star on that series.

    • Back to the Future Part II: The same Dustin Hoffman line that Arzt shouts was recreated in the 1989 science fiction film Back to the Future Part II delivered by Michael J. Fox's character, Marty McFly Jr. The Back to the Future (film series) also centered around time travel, paradoxes, changing history and the impact they have on family relations.

    • Midnight Cowboy: Arzt shouts, "I'm walking here. I'm walking here!" This line is from the 1969 film Midnight Cowboy where the same dialog is delivered word-for-word by Dustin Hoffman's character, Ratso Rizzo. The line ranked #27 on AFI's list of the top 100 movie quotations in American cinema.
